Which details are usually announced late?

Several details only appear in December. Last year Hamburg’s HVV published its night plan on 12 December 2025, Zurich’s ZVV released its special timetable on 29 December 2025, and the Hamburg police fireworks order was published on 9 December 2025. Expect the same pattern in 2026: line-ups and tickets first, transport plans and street rules last.

The Hamburg and Zurich guides show what was published in each of those cases, and every guide lists what is still open.

Which guides cover fireworks rules?

Fireworks rules differ from city to city. These guides cover them: Amsterdam, Antwerp, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dublin, Glasgow, Hamburg, Melbourne, Prague and Zurich.

In the Netherlands, a national ban on consumer fireworks applies from 1 August 2026, with F1 fireworks such as sparklers still allowed from age 12. The Dutch-language guides for Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht explain what that means for each city.

How do you avoid problems on the night?

  • Book only through the organiser or the ticket shop linked on the venue’s own page, and check whether the price includes fees.
  • Check each guide again in December, when transport plans and line-ups are published.
  • Carry official ID, because some parties in these guides are 18+ or have higher age limits.
  • Plan your way home before midnight. In Zurich, for example, trains and trams are very full right after the fireworks.
