What is known about Barcelona on Thursday 31 December 2026: the reported move of the Cap d'Any show, the Poble Espanyol party, 2025/26 club prices and what is unannounced.

This post answers one question: what is known about New Year's Eve 2026 in Barcelona on Thursday 31 December, from the official Cap d'Any show to the club nights with a ticket page, and how the metro worked last year. Each fact is marked as confirmed for 2026/27, as a 2025/26 pattern, or as not announced.

The biggest change is the venue: in July 2026 betevé reported that the midnight celebration leaves Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina because of building works. No new programme has been published, and most clubs have not listed 31 December yet. See also the Barcelona nightlife guide.

Where will the Cap d'Any show be held in 2026?

betevé reported on 14 July 2026, citing city council sources, that the New Year's Eve celebration will move from Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina to the Anella Olímpica on Montjuïc, because renovation works at Fira de Montjuïc are incompatible with large events. The same report moves the Mercè Piromusical to Bogatell beach. TOT Barcelona says the Institut de Cultura confirmed only the Piromusical move, and Time Out Catalan quotes no official confirmation for the Cap d'Any move. The reports say the works peak in 2027, and give no date, time or programme.

What was the Cap d'Any programme in 2025/26?

The city's page for the 2025/26 edition lists a fireworks, drone and music show on Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina from 23:50 to 00:10, produced by Groupe F with music by Marc Parrot, free with no capacity limit. betevé put the Font Màgica in the show and an area programme from 22:00. Time Out Catalan puts attendance at the New Year's bells at 115,000. 3cat reported more than 100,000 expected, four access controls banning glass bottles, cans, electric scooters and knives, and security at alert level 4 of 5. The city's Nadal site says it will be updated around November 2026.

Will the metro run all night on 31 December 2026?

Not announced. For 2025/26, NacióDigital reported on 26 November 2025 that the metro network would run all night without interruption, and 3cat said extra frequencies ran on L1 and L3, with Espanya, Hostafrancs, Tarragona, Rocafort and Poble-sec as recommended stations. TMB's own 2025/26 notice could not be read, and no 2026/27 timetable was found. No access plan has been published for the Anella Olímpica.

Which club nights have a New Year's Eve 2026 page?

Poble Espanyol's website lists a New Year's Eve party on 31/12/2026 with tickets through its ticket portal and a price shown as 45, with no currency, times or line-up. The 2025/26 edition ran 22:30 to 06:00 across four venues, 18+, from €45. irBarcelona (updated 20 October 2026) gives 22:30 to 06:00 from €55, which conflicts with the venue's 45. The same page lists Input for 2026/27, 23:59 to 06:00 from €20 with VIP at €200 to €800, but Input's own agenda ends on 19 December, so it is unconfirmed.

Razzmatazz lists nothing for 31 December in its agenda. In 2025/26 Time Out gave 22:30 to 06:00 from €64 with a drink, and betevé reported five rooms. Sala Apolo lists events to 21 January 2027 but no New Year's Eve; in 2025/26 Nitsa ran 01:00 to 06:00 at €40 in advance or €50 at the door. Jamboree opened 22:30 to 05:00 from €30 in 2025/26. Pacha Barcelona's site blocks automated reading, so it is left out.

What has not been announced for New Year's Eve 2026 in Barcelona yet?

  • The Anella Olímpica programme: time, access routes, closures, security rules and any official confirmation of the move.
  • TMB's all-night metro and bus plan for 31 December and 1 January.
  • Razzmatazz, Sala Apolo and Nitsa New Year's Eve nights, prices and ticket phases.
  • Input's own New Year's Eve page and the Poble Espanyol times, line-up and age limit.
  • Pacha Barcelona's New Year's Eve programme, which could not be verified.
