The Hague nightlife is smaller and more spread out than Amsterdam's, and it works best if you treat it as three separate nights. The old centre does the bars: the Grote Markt is a former market square ringed by cafés that stay open until 01:30, and Plein, beside the Binnenhof, fills with office workers after five. Danzig and Club Joli keep the centre dancing until 04:00 or 05:00, and Paard puts on bands and party nights on Prinsegracht. The electronic crowd heads to Binckhorst and Laak, where PIP and Laak run past 06:00. In summer, Scheveningen adds day parties by the sea. Worth knowing: trams stop after midnight, and the night buses only run on Friday and Saturday.

It is a bar city first. Most of the night happens on and around the Grote Markt. De Zwarte Ruiter has put bands on for free since 1988, VaVoom pours tiki cocktails next door, and Rootz serves from more than 300 beers until 04:00 from Wednesday to Sunday. Most other bars stop at 01:00 or 01:30.
The serious club nights are on the edges. PIP sits on the BINK36 site on Binckhorstlaan, within walking distance of Den Haag Centraal, and runs techno, electro and house from midnight to 06:00. Laak, behind metal gates on Lulofstraat, is a limited-capacity room, and some of its nights run into the next morning. Both work on a calendar of dates, not every weekend.
Plan the trip home before you go out. Trams stop after midnight. On Friday and Saturday nights six night buses leave Centraal Station once every two hours for €6.50. On other nights it is a bike, a long walk or a taxi.
The Grote Markt bars sit side by side, and the square is busy from the afternoon until the last round at 01:30.
PIP and Laak book the city's underground nights, from local residents to a PIP x Tresor night in December.
Paard has run since 1972 and hosted U2, Prince and Pearl Jam. De Zwarte Ruiter and Paardcafé put on free shows.
Danzig and Paardcafé charge nothing at the door, and a ticket for a PIP night costs €10–18.
Scheveningen draws ten million visitors a year. In summer the beach clubs turn into dance floors before the sun goes down.
Kompaan brews in Binckhorsthaven, Van Kinsbergen has 15 taps and Murphy's Law pours both Murphy's Stout and Irish Red.
Not for you if you want a big club open every night of the week. The best electronic nights here happen a few times a month, so check the calendars before you plan a weekend around them.

Kompaan's bar in Binckhorsthaven has 20 taps, sea containers for walls and a barbecue kitchen. Pair it with a night at PIP.
The Grote Markt is the bar square, with De Zwarte Ruiter, VaVoom, Rootz and the Bleyenberg rooftop. Plein, by the Binnenhof, is the after-work square, with Danzig and Club Joli nearby. Paard is on Prinsegracht, five minutes' walk from the Grote Markt tram stop.
A 19th-century district of shops and cafés on Piet Heinstraat and Prins Hendrikstraat. Van Kinsbergen on Prins Hendrikplein and Murphy's Law in neighbouring Willemspark are the places for a quieter night.
Fifteen minutes by tram from Den Haag Centraal. Crazy Piano's runs until 04:00 on Saturday, Zahara mixes cocktails on the beach, and Hito and Colorado Charlie host day parties in season.
Binckhorst is a business district east of the centre, with PIP on the BINK36 site and Kompaan's brewery in Binckhorsthaven. Laak is a limited-capacity club behind metal gates on Lulofstraat. This is where the best clubs in The Hague for electronic music are.
The big park in Escamp hosts open-air events in summer, including The Crave Festival, which put five stages of disco, house and techno in the park on 6 June 2026. Tram 9 stops at the park.
Bring ID. Alcohol is only sold to people aged 18 or over, and the club nights at PIP, Laak and Paard are 18+. We found no published dress code at the venues in this guide. PIP runs PIN-only payment, and Laak calls itself a limited-capacity venue, so buy tickets for both before you go.

Trams stop after midnight and do not run through the night. On Friday and Saturday nights HTM runs six night buses, N1 to N6, from Centraal Station/Rijnstraat between 01:00 and 05:00. Each line leaves once every two hours, and a ticket costs €6.50: pay with a contactless bank card or the HTM app, because the OV-chipkaart is not valid. A taxi can charge at most €4.31 to start, €3.17 per kilometre and €0.52 per minute in 2026.
