Warsaw

Warsaw nightlife is spread out but easy to read. The techno clubs sit in the middle of Śródmieście, a short walk from Nowy Świat: Smolna in a pre-war tenement, Jasna 1 by Świętokrzyska, and Luzztro, where the after-hours run into late morning. Across the Vistula, Praga has gig rooms in old courtyards, a cocktail bar in the Polish Vodka Museum and the biggest rave hall on Modlińska. The river boulevards in Powiśle fill up in the warm months, and the rooftop bars look down from Wola and the central station. Club entry is usually 50–100 zł. Worth knowing: the metro runs until about 03:00 on Friday and Saturday nights, and after that the N night buses take over.

What to expect

The serious clubs are in the middle of town. Smolna, Jasna 1 and Luzztro are all in Śródmieście, within walking distance of each other and of Nowy Świat. If one door says no, the next is a short walk away.

The night runs long. Club nights start at 22:00 or 23:00, headline nights at Smolna end at 08:00, and Luzztro's after-hours go on until about 11:00 at the weekend. The metro stops around 03:00 on Friday and Saturday, so most people stay out until the night buses or the first train.

The doors take themselves seriously. Smolna is 21+, Jasna 1 says a pre-sale ticket does not guarantee entry, and both keep cameras off the floor. Come in a small group, know who is playing and keep your phone in your pocket.

Who this city is for

Techno and house heads

Smolna, Jasna 1 and OCZKI book international DJs most weekends, Luzztro covers the after-hours, and Sektor 6D brings in the big touring names.

Late finishers

Headline nights at Smolna run until 08:00, and Luzztro keeps going until late morning at the weekend.

Gig-goers

Niebo, Hydrozagadka, Progresja and Stodoła put on concerts most weeks, and Niebo turns into a party after the gig.

Rooftop drinkers

Panorama Sky Bar on the 40th floor and The Roof on the 21st, plus Level 27 for dancing at height.

Summer visitors

In the warm months the Vistula boulevards fill up, with free events at Plac Zabaw and the BarKa barge.

Budget nights

Free Thursday open decks at Jasna 1, 43 zł cocktails in Praga and a 4.40 zł ticket home.

Not for you if you want to walk into a famous club with a big group at 02:00. The best doors are selective, and one of them is 21+.

19:00

Gigs start at Niebo, with Hydrozagadka at 19:30 or 20:00. The rooftop bars are already open.

21:00

23:00

Doors open at Level 27, and the party nights start at Niebo. Luzztro gets going around midnight.

01:00

The floors fill. On Friday and Saturday the metro still runs for another two hours.

05:00

The neighbourhoods

Śródmieście — techno and Nowy Świat

The best area to go out if you only have one night. Smolna, Jasna 1 and Luzztro are within walking distance, Niebo is on Nowy Świat, and the bars run along Nowy Świat and Krucza.

Powiśle — the river in summer

Below the escarpment, the Vistula boulevards fill up in the warm months. Plac Zabaw has two stages and free events; Monkey Love plays house at Port Czerniakowski.

Praga — courtyards and big rooms

The right bank. Hydrozagadka and Chmury share a courtyard on 11 Listopada, 3/4 Koneser Bar pours infusions in the Polish Vodka Museum, and Sektor 6D hosts the big raves.

Wola — towers and Fort Wola

The office towers around Rondo Daszyńskiego hold The Roof on the 21st floor. Progresja, a concert hall that also runs raves, is further west.

Ochota — a rooftop club and a warehouse

Level 27 on the 27th floor of Atlas Tower, and OCZKI, a post-industrial club with house upstairs and techno in the Salon.

Mokotów — the student classic

Quieter after dark. Stodoła has been on Batorego since 1956 and still books touring bands most weeks.

At the door

Getting in

Most clubs are 18+, and Smolna is 21+. Carry photo ID. The techno doors are selective: Jasna 1 says a pre-sale ticket does not guarantee entry, though it refunds anyone it turns away, and Smolna can refuse you without giving a reason. Come in twos or threes, know the line-up and expect a sticker over your phone camera. Level 27 is different: smart casual or elegant clothes are welcome, and the 18+ rule has no exceptions.

What it costs to get in

Usually 50–100 zł. Level 27 charges 50 zł on a normal weekend, a Jasna 1 open air cost 79–100 zł, and a headline night at Smolna was €23 on Resident Advisor. Jasna 1's Thursday open decks are free, and gig tickets at Hydrozagadka run from about 89 to 180 zł.

Getting home

The metro runs from about 05:00 until around midnight to 01:00, and until about 03:00 on Friday and Saturday nights, roughly every 15 minutes late on. After that, more than 40 N night buses run until about 05:00, most every 30 minutes, timed to meet at Dworzec Centralny so you can change lines. A 20-minute ticket costs 3.40 zł and a 75-minute ticket 4.40 zł. Most night bus stops are request stops, so signal the driver.

What visitors get wrong

Ride the metro there, not back

It stops around 03:00 on Friday and Saturday nights and earlier the rest of the week. Plan on an N bus or the first train.

Change night buses at Dworzec Centralny

The N lines are timed to meet at the central station, so it is the place to switch lines. Signal the driver at most stops.

Be 21 for Smolna

Smolna does not let anyone under 21 in, and other clubs check ID too. Bring a passport or photo ID card.

Leave the camera off

Smolna tapes phone cameras at the door and Jasna 1 bans photos on club nights. Filming is the quickest way out.

Buy a weekend ticket

24 zł covers every ride from Friday 19:00 to Monday 08:00. It pays for itself after six 75-minute tickets.

Check the weather for the riverside

Plac Zabaw and BarKa close according to the weather. On a cold night, head for Praga or Śródmieście instead.

Why this city is like this

Stodoła was named by taxi drivers

The Warsaw University of Technology opened it in 1956 as its central student club. Drivers called it stodoła, the barn, and the name stuck. It turned 70 in April 2026.

Smolna turns ten

The club opened in late 2016 in a pre-war tenement and marks its tenth birthday in October 2026 with a run of anniversary nights.

The late metro began as a trial

In 2007 the city tested running trains late into Friday and Saturday nights. Weekend service until about 03:00 is now part of the timetable.

A legend that lost its building

Pogłos, the cooperative-run club on Burakowska, lost its home when the city chose to sell the land rather than renew the lease. The cooperative played a farewell concert in December 2024 and wound up.
