Frankfurt nightlife is smaller than Berlin's and more spread out than it looks. The bank towers stand over a compact centre, but the long nights happen on the edges: Tanzhaus West and Tokonoma Club on Gutleutstraße in the west, Zoom in Fechenheim in the east, and Robert Johnson over the city line in Offenbach. The Bahnhofsviertel and the Innenstadt are where you drink and find the commercial clubs, and Sachsenhausen is where the apple-wine taverns are. Doors open around 23:00, and the techno nights run to 06:00 or 08:00. Worth knowing: on Friday and Saturday nights four U-Bahn lines, four tram lines and six S-Bahn lines run all night.

For the drinks before and after. Hours, prices and the best nights are on each page.
The best rooms are on the edges, not under the towers. Tanzhaus West and Tokonoma Club share Gutleutstraße in the industrial west, Zoom is out in Fechenheim, and Robert Johnson is in Offenbach, a separate town. Plan the night around one of them rather than around a district.
The weekend runs on trains. On Friday and Saturday nights the U4, U5, U7 and U8, trams 11, 12, 16 and 18 and six S-Bahn lines run through the night. In the week night buses take over, and Frankfurt has a connection at least every 30 minutes.
Two scenes share the city, and they rarely mix. Gibson on the Zeil and Pracht in the Bahnhofsviertel open at 22:00 or 23:00 and close at 05:00. The techno and house rooms sell tickets in advance, start around midnight and finish at 08:00 or later.
Robert Johnson has been the reference since 1999: Ricardo Villalobos, Rhadoo and Gerd Janson all play there in autumn 2026.
Tokonoma Club, Tanzhaus West and Zoom book techno most weekends, with Kobosil, Freddy K and a Cocoon night on the calendar.
Nights on Gutleutstraße run to 08:00, and some go to 09:00 or later.
Sachsenhausen has the taverns, from Fichtekränzi, founded in 1849, to Apfelwein Wagner, family-run since 1931.
The Jazzkeller has been down its 19 stone steps since 1952, with a jam session every Wednesday.
Gibson on the Zeil runs urban nights on Thursday and Friday and open format on Saturday, for more than 900 people.
Not for you if you want everything in one walkable quarter. The best clubs are spread across two cities, and you will take a train between them.

Tanzhaus West and Tokonoma Club sit side by side on the industrial end of Gutleutstraße, west of the station. Both run until 08:00.

The apple-wine taverns of Alt-Sachsenhausen and Schweizer Straße, from Fichtekränzi to Apfelwein Wagner, plus disco and techno nights at Yachtklub on the riverbank.
Out past the Ostend, Zoom in Fechenheim hosts Cocoon and HEAT, and the Batschkapp in Seckbach has fifty years of concerts behind it. Take the U-Bahn, a tram or a taxi.
A residential district north of the centre with quieter bars, such as the Logenhaus Bar's vintage salon on Finkenhofstraße.
A separate town just east of Frankfurt with its own fare level in the RMV tariff. Robert Johnson has been on Nordring since 1999.
Most clubs are 18+ and want ID. Some nights set the bar higher: Pracht is 21+ on Saturday, and themed parties at Tanzhaus West can be 21+ with a costume dress code and no photos.
