Arnhem nightlife centres on the Korenmarkt, a square where late bars sit door to door: Aspen Valley, LOFT, The Cavern Café and a handful of party cafés, most of them listed open until 04:00 on Friday and Saturday. Beside the station, Luxor Live and Willemeen run gigs and club nights, the Jansplein cafés pour craft beer, and Klarendal has a brewing bistro. Most rooms are small, so the night is a walk from door to door rather than a queue for one club. Worth knowing: the NS night-train network does not run to Arnhem Centraal, so plan your way home before the Korenmarkt fills up.

The Korenmarkt does most of the work. Aspen Valley, LOFT, The Cavern Café, Freaky Piano Bar, Shooters, Café Pavlov and Bar XO all sit on or beside one square. Several of them only open from Thursday, and listings show the late ones open until 04:00 on Friday and Saturday, so the choice is made by walking past the doors.
The music rooms are by the station. Luxor Live is a 1915 art deco cinema with a main hall for about 700 people (a 2019 figure), and Willemeen is a youth venue with underground gigs and late DJ nights. Both sit on the Willemsplein, about two minutes on foot from Arnhem Centraal. Tickets are set per event.
It is a small city, so the choice is narrow. We found no large techno club: LOFT, the biggest party room we could confirm, says it holds 400 people over two floors. Arnhem is a student city, with HAN and ArtEZ, but we could not confirm a fixed student night, so check the agendas before you pick a weekend.
Seven or eight late rooms on one square, from the après-ski parties at Aspen Valley to the sing-along at Freaky Piano Bar. You can change venue without leaving the square.
Luxor Live programmes rock, pop and electronic acts in two halls, Willemeen books punk, metal and hardcore, and Dollars Live has local rock bands from Thursday to Saturday.
The tap wall at 't Taphuys, craft beer at Eetcafé Sint Jan, single malts at Café De Beugel and CASPAR's own beers in Klarendal.
Mick O'Connells and Café 't Huys both show live sport on several screens, and 't Huys has a karaoke night on Wednesday.
Arnhem is home to HAN and ArtEZ. The International Student Association Arnhem runs social events, and Aspen Valley lists a Collegenight on its agenda.
JEU de boules bar has 11 indoor boules lanes, darts and pool near the station, with drinks packages from €16 per person.
Not for you if you want a big club or a techno night every weekend. The rooms are small, and the biggest nights are gigs rather than clubs.
BLOU, the rooftop bar on Hotel Haarhuis, opens on Friday and Saturday. JEU de boules bar is open from 16:00 from Wednesday to Friday.
Dinner or a first beer on the Jansplein. Café 't Huys starts its karaoke on Wednesday.

Start at Shooters, move to Café Pavlov in its alley, then try Aspen Valley or LOFT. Listed hours put the last of them at 04:00.
The 1915 cinema has a Grote zaal and a Bovenzaal. Its Dance label runs club nights, and dance nights are 18+ unless stated.
Wednesday gigs at the W1 Café are free. Arnhem Death Fest is on Willemeen's programme for Saturday 24 October.
A pianist plays pop favourites, then a DJ takes over. It is listed open from Thursday to Saturday until 05:00.
The tap wall on the Jansplein lets you taste before you fill a glass, and it is open until 02:30 on Friday and Saturday.

Luxor Live and Willemeen face each other across the Willemsplein, with the BLOU rooftop bar and JEU de boules bar a few minutes away. Arnhem Centraal is two minutes on foot.
The Modekwartier has independent shops and studios. CASPAR, on the ground floor of Hotel Modez, brews its own beer and closes around midnight at the weekend.
Park Sonsbeek is a daytime destination, and Stadsvilla Sonsbeek closes at 22:00. The Spijkerkwartier has cafés and shops, but we found no late bar or club to list there.
The legal age for alcohol is 18, and Luxor Live's dance nights are 18+ unless the event page says otherwise. Bring ID. Under the city bylaw text we read (2021), venues in the central concentration area that stay open past 03:00 need door staff from midnight unless they hold 50 people or fewer, so expect a bouncer even at small bars. Reviews of Aspen Valley, LOFT and Bar XO mention rough or unfriendly security, so go in a small group and keep your receipts and locker tickets.
We found no published door prices for the Korenmarkt bars. Gigs and club nights at Luxor Live and Willemeen are ticketed per event, the W1 Café gigs at Willemeen are free, and Luxor Live's cloakroom is free.
There is no NS night train to Arnhem Centraal. Regional buses run as RRReis, and the station has guarded bike parking that is free for the first 24 hours (check in with an OV-chipkaart). A taxi costs at most €4.31 to start, €3.17 per kilometre and €0.52 per minute in 2026, which is about €18 for three kilometres. Check the last bus in 9292 before you go out.

Luxor Live opened in 1915 as a cinema with an art deco interior by Willem Diehl. The city bought it in 2002 and it reopened as a venue in 2008.
The square's granaries recall a corn trade that ended in 1914, and the Lutheran church on it dates from 1737.
The Jansplein has a neo-Gothic former post office from 1889, nicknamed Monkey Cliff for its terracotta monkeys. 't Taphuys sits in the old post office on the square.
