Brno nightlife is built around live music, cellars and a student calendar. The city has ten universities and over 65,000 students, and its best rooms are concert venues that turn into clubs after the last band: Fléda, Melodka, Sono and Klub Alterna. The Old Town handles the drinking, with cocktail bars around Zelný trh and Dvořákova and cellar rooms such as EXIT Club and Slast. Bars close between 02:00 and 03:30, and techno nights have run to 06:00. Entry is paid per event: a Fléda drum and bass night cost 399 Kč (€16) in advance. Worth knowing: trams stop around 23:00. After that, 11 night bus lines leave Hlavní nádraží together.
