Eindhoven nightlife is built around one street. Stratumseind, called the longest pub street in the Netherlands, fits about 40 cafés into 225 metres, and most of the city's dancing happens there until 04:00 from Thursday to Saturday. Around it sit quieter scenes: the Effenaar's two halls on Dommelstraat, cocktail and beer bars around the Markt and the Kleine Berg, live music on Wilhelminaplein, and the former Philips halls of Strijp-S, where the Klokgebouw hosts the big dance events. Stratumseind is free to walk into, and ticketed club nights start at around €10. Worth knowing: the city tried staggered closing times on Stratumseind in 2025 and dropped them, so 04:00 is a fixed end to the night.

One street does most of the work. Stratumseind is 225 metres long with about 40 cafés, and from Thursday to Saturday it stays open until 04:00. Most places are free to enter, so the night is a walk from door to door rather than a queue for one club.
The big nights are events, not a weekly club. Eindhoven lost its old discos, Danssalon and Hollywood among them. Today the large dance nights happen in the Klokgebouw at Strijp-S, in the Effenaar's halls and in the club rooms at LAB-1, so check the agenda before you pick a weekend.
It is a student city, but less than it was. Thursday is the traditional student night and the average Stratumseind visitor is between 18 and 23, but students told the TU/e paper Cursor in 2026 that a night out costs around €80 and that they drink more than they club. Since 2026, Thursday also runs until 04:00.
About 40 cafés in 225 metres on Stratumseind, most of them free to walk into, from salsa to silent disco.
Hidden Garden, Liquicity and Verknipt fill the Klokgebouw this winter. SFERE at LAB-1 is the €10 version.
Touring bands at the Effenaar, smaller gigs at Altstadt and Café Wilhelmina, and heavy music at Dynamo.
Santiago de Cuba on Stratumseind is open every evening, with salsa, bachata and kizomba and courses for beginners.
The Fat One is 25+ on Friday and Saturday, and De Club on Dommelstraat is 35+ with live disco and soul.
The Effenaar is opposite Eindhoven Centraal, and NS night trains run hourly at weekends towards Utrecht and Rotterdam.
Not for you if you want a big club every weekend. The large nights here are one-off events, and on a quiet Saturday the choice is mostly Stratumseind.
First drinks. Terraces on the Markt and Wilhelminaplein, or cocktails at the top of the Groene Toren at VANE.
Dinner, or the beer list at Drinkers Pub. Café Costa and The Fat One open their doors.
Stratumseind fills up. RGB Disco hands out headphones, and bands play at Altstadt and Café Wilhelmina.
Club nights start at LAB-1 and Club Eighty One. The street is at its busiest.
Bars away from Stratumseind close: Bommel, Café Wilhelmina and The Black Cat.
Stratumseind closes from Thursday to Saturday. Bike, taxi or the hourly weekend night train.
About 40 cafés in 225 metres. Start with a cocktail at Thomas, try a channel at RGB Disco and finish wherever the music is loudest at three.
Hidden Garden with Joris Voorn and Bart Skils on 19 December, the Liquicity Winterfestival on 27 December and Verknipt on New Year's Eve, all in former Philips halls.
Concerts in the main hall and club nights in the Kleine Zaal: drum and bass, K-pop and 90s nights this autumn.
A retro cinema with five rooms. SFERE costs €10 and runs from 23:00 to 04:00.
17–25 October 2026, with Strijp-S and the Klokgebouw at the centre of it and programmes across the city, Dynamo included.
During carnival Eindhoven renames itself Lampegat, and Stratumseind is one of the places the party happens.
225 metres, about 40 cafés and the city's latest hours: 04:00 from Thursday to Saturday. Thomas, The Fat One, Altstadt, Santiago de Cuba and RGB Disco are all here.
The centre around the Markt: craft cocktails at The Black Cat, more than 1,000 beers at Drinkers Pub, Bommel on the Kleine Berg and club nights at LAB-1.
A historic square with pubs and terraces. Café Wilhelmina, open since 1971, has bands, a pub quiz and a Friday DJ night.
Opposite Eindhoven Centraal: the Effenaar's two halls, De Club for a 35+ crowd, and the VANE skybar on the Vestdijk.
The former Philips factory district, about ten minutes by bike from the centre: Klokgebouw events for up to 10,000 people and the Rabauw brewpub.
Most of Stratumseind is 18+ and free to walk into. A few doors set their own rules: The Fat One is 25+ on Friday and Saturday, De Club is 35+, and some LAB-1 nights, such as Club Zer00s, are 21+. Bring ID. Groups do better booking a package at a party café such as Café Costa than turning up as twelve.
Nothing on most of Stratumseind. Ticketed club nights are cheap: SFERE at LAB-1 costs €10 and House Mussen at HAVEN, the club in Dynamo's basement, €6.50. Klokgebouw events and Effenaar nights are priced per event, so check the listing.
Most people cycle: Strijp-S is about ten minutes by bike from the centre. NS night trains run once an hour on weekend nights from Eindhoven Centraal towards Utrecht via 's-Hertogenbosch and towards Rotterdam via Breda. A taxi costs at most €4.31 to start, €3.17 per kilometre and €0.52 per minute in 2026, which is about €18 for three kilometres. Check the last bus in the 9292 planner before you go out.

Since 2026 Stratumseind can stay open until 04:00 on Thursday, as on Friday and Saturday.
18+ is normal, but The Fat One is 25+ at the weekend, De Club 35+ and Club Zer00s at LAB-1 21+.
The big nights are events at the Klokgebouw, the Effenaar, LAB-1 and HAVEN, and their dates are published months ahead.
If you came by train, the Effenaar and De Club are on Dommelstraat, right opposite Eindhoven Centraal.
It is about ten minutes by bike from the centre, and the district has its own station, Eindhoven Strijp-S.
Altstadt's 90s Riot on 11 October 2026 and HAVEN's Bass for Space street rave on 17 October cost nothing.
Gerard and Anton Philips founded a light-bulb factory here in 1891. Eindhoven is still called the City of Light, and during carnival it becomes Lampegat.
Stratumseind is called the longest pub street in the Netherlands, with about 40 cafés in 225 metres.
In 2025 the city let Stratumseind stay open longer but stop letting people in after a set time. Incidents peaked around 04:00 instead of falling, and the experiment was dropped in March 2026.
Philips built its first factory at Strijp in 1916, a glass works for light bulbs. The district's halls now host Dutch Design Week and the Klokgebouw's dance events.
Stratumseind closes at 04:00 from Thursday to Saturday, and most bars elsewhere close at 01:00 or 02:00. A few nights run later: the Effenaar's Kleine Zaal holds a 24-hour club permit, and HAVEN at Dynamo can stay open until 06:00 up to ten times a year.
Stratumseind for bars and dancing, the Markt and the Kleine Berg for cocktails and beer, Dommelstraat for gigs at the Effenaar, and Strijp-S for the big dance events at the Klokgebouw.
Usually not. Most cafés on the street are free to walk into, and The Fat One states free entry. Ticketed club nights elsewhere cost from €6.50 at HAVEN and €10 at LAB-1.
Most people cycle. NS night trains run hourly at weekends towards Utrecht and Rotterdam, and a taxi costs about €18 for three kilometres at the 2026 maximum tariff.
Traditionally, yes, but students told Cursor in 2026 that it is no longer really a thing. Stratumseind can now stay open until 04:00 on Thursday, so the late option is there.
18+ is standard. The Fat One is 25+ on Friday and Saturday, De Club is 35+, and some LAB-1 nights are 21+. Bring ID.
