Rome nightlife starts late and spreads out. The evening begins with aperitivo around 19:00, moves to the bars of Trastevere, Monti or Pigneto after dinner, and reaches the clubs after midnight. The dance floors sit away from the monuments: Testaccio and Ostiense in the south, San Lorenzo and the old industrial east around Tiburtina. Most clubs close between 04:00 and 06:00, entry usually costs €10–25, and many nights are 21+. In summer a large part of the programme moves outdoors. Worth knowing: the metro stops around 23:30, or 01:30 on Friday and Saturday, so plan on a night bus or a taxi home.
