This post answers one question: what is confirmed for New Year's Eve 2026 in Amsterdam, which club nights have a 31 December 2026 page, and how people get home. Each fact is marked as confirmed for 2026/27, a 2025/26 pattern, or not announced.

The Dutch government states that the national consumer fireworks ban takes effect on 1 August 2026 and applies to the coming New Year. Welingelichte Kringen summarises the rules: only F1 fireworks such as sparklers remain legal for people aged 12 and over, F2 and above (cakes, compound boxes, large fountains) are banned, and professional shows are still allowed. It lists a €100 fine for possessing up to 25 kg on a first offence, and notes the amounts come from a 2024 guideline that may be revised.
Mayors can grant exemptions to local associations, but NL Times reported on 15 October 2026 that Amsterdam is one of at least 211 municipalities that will not. Mayor Femke Halsema said the same in January 2026 and added that the city was considering extra official shows. In 2025/26 the city ran Electric Fireworks on the Museumplein: a children's light show with its countdown at 19:00, and a New Year show with a pre-party from 23:00, a countdown at 23:55 and the party until 00:30. Professional shows ran at Sloterplas, IJburg and Weesp. No 2026/27 programme was found.
Gashouder's own page lists Gashouder Presents: New Year on Thursday 31 December 2026, 22:00 to 06:00, 18+, from €44.95. The line-up is Benny Rodrigues b2b Tonno Disko, Carista, Lucky Done Gone b2b Sef and Maey, with a live act still to be announced. Festivalinfo reported on 8 October 2026 that tickets were on sale at €44.95 to €149.95. Festivalfans lists Second Release at €49.95, Third Release at €59.95, Final Release at €69.95 and balcony Comfort tickets at €149.95; Gashouder's page shows no phases. Conflict: Gashouder's homepage lists the night at 21:00, its event page at 22:00.
H7 Warehouse, Humberweg 7, 1043 AC, is listed on the I amsterdam calendar for Thursday 31 December 2026, 22:00 to 05:00, from €25, with tickets through amsterdamnye.com. It names no artists and describes eclectic, urban, Afro, house, Latin, pop and world music. No age limit is stated. In 2025/26 Q-Factory held a NYE festival (22:00 to 05:00, 18+); no 2026/27 page was found.
Shelter has no 31 December entry. Its agenda shows BIBI on Friday 01.01 (Club 23:00 to 06:00, Restroom 00:00 to 05:00, Ryan Elliot and more to be announced); the page omits the year, but the weekday matches 2027. In 2025/26 Shelter ran from 22:00 on 31 December to 09:00 the next morning. Melkweg lists a Techno Tuesday on 29 December and then nothing until 9 January 2027, and Paradiso shows nothing for 31 December or 1 January on the programme page checked.
RADION ran DJ Bone presents: Further NYE on Wednesday 31 December 2025 (22:00 to 07:00, 18+); no 31 December 2026 listing was found. Awakenings held a 1 January 2026 day event at SugarFactory (13:00 to 00:00, 18+, €59.95 and €64.95). A third-party listing marks an Awakenings NYE at the Gashouder for 2026/27 as TBC, which conflicts with Gashouder's own page, so it is unconfirmed.
Amsterdam Explorer, a local guide updated on 23 October 2026, says GVB runs a normal timetable until 20:00 on 31 December, then stops. The timetable restarts at 01:30 on Friday 1 January 2027 with night buses and metro lines 52 (Noord to Zuid) and 54 (Centraal to Gein), and the rest follows at 07:00. Amstel station is closed, and Centraal Station's passageways close from 20:00 except the Cuyperspassage. The page gives the night bus fare as both €5.60 and about €5.40, so confirm on GVB.nl. Its NS section gives different restart times (around 10:00, and 01:00 or 02:00 on some routes), so check NS.nl too.
GVB's own pages could not be read, so treat this as unconfirmed. The same shape applied in 2018/19: Treinreiziger reported no Amsterdam public transport from 20:00 to 01:30, apart from ferries and metro lines 52 and 54. Festivalinfo advises reaching Gashouder by bike or public transport, since the site is only partly accessible by car.
