New Year's Eve 2026 in London: fireworks, club nights, tickets and getting home

This post answers one question: what can you book for New Year's Eve 2026 in London, and how do you get home? It covers the Mayor of London's ticketed fireworks at the London Eye and the club nights with a published page for Thursday 31 December 2026.

It is still October, so parts are unannounced: no adult fabric or Ministry of Sound listing could be found, and TfL has not published night services. Those gaps are listed below, with the 2025/26 pattern where a source states it.

New Year's Eve 2026 in London: key facts

• Fireworks (confirmed for 2026/27): the Mayor of London's show at the London Eye is ticketed and runs 20:00 on Thursday 31 December 2026 to 00:30 on Friday 1 January 2027.
• Tickets (confirmed for 2026/27): Ticketmaster only. Category A (Blue, Pink, White) is £55, or £35 with a London postcode; Category B (Red, Green, Orange) is £40, or £20. A booking fee is added.
• Roads (confirmed for 2026/27): vehicle access is restricted from 14:00 on 31 December until about 06:00 on 1 January, and five bridges cannot be used.
• Club nights (confirmed for 2026/27): Defected at OVO Arena Wembley (18:00 to 02:00), Release NYE at Studio 338 (17:00 to 07:00) and Fabio & Grooverider at The Nottinghill Arts Club (21:00 to 03:00).
• fabric and Ministry of Sound (not announced): no adult 31 December 2026 night found. In 2025/26 Ministry ran MOS NYE from 21:00 to 05:00.
• Night transport (not announced for 2026/27): in 2025/26 the Tube ran all night on a reduced Saturday timetable, with no free travel.

Facts checked on 25 October 2026. New Year's Eve line-ups, prices and sold-out status change often and many are announced in November and December, so confirm on the organiser page before you book.

How do tickets for the London New Year's Eve fireworks work?

The first batch went on sale at midday on Friday 23 October 2026 through Ticketmaster, the only authorised seller. A second, smaller batch has no date yet. Prices are unchanged from last year. Each buyer can purchase up to 4 tickets, the London rate needs a matching billing postcode, and tickets are non-refundable (face-value resale only through Ticketmaster). Viewing areas are entered from 20:00 to 22:30, the main buyer may need photo ID, and you cannot move between areas on the night. City Hall expects about 100,000 people. The show opens with the chimes of Big Ben, adds thousands of fireworks and hundreds of lights around the London Eye, and ends with the traditional singalong; no show length is given.

Blue (north bank, gates 1 and 2) has the head-on view. Green (gate 7) is behind the London Eye, and Orange (gate 9, Albert Embankment) is the accessible area with seating and a hearing loop. Source conflict: City Hall puts Pink (Waterloo Bridge, gate 6, Southwark) on the south bank, while Ian Visits (16 October 2026) describes a north-side entrance, so follow the gate on the ticket. Some areas are up to 2km from public transport.

Which club nights are confirmed for New Year's Eve 2026 in London?

Defected NYE 2026 is at OVO Arena Wembley, HA9 0AA, with Basement Jaxx, Dennis Ferrer, Sam Divine B2B Low Steppa and Rae Sada plus more to be announced. Skiddle gives 18:00 to 02:00 and 18+; neither page shows a price.

Release NYE is a mini-festival at Studio 338, 338 Boord Street, Greenwich SE10 0PF, led by Paco Osuna with Nu Zau, Syreeta, Casey Spillman and Tini Gessler. It is 18+, tagged "Selling Fast", and needs physical photo ID ("No physical ID = no entry"; screenshots refused). The venue says 17:00 to 07:00 and Skiddle's header says 06:00. The venue page shows a starting figure of 10 without a currency, so no price is quoted.

Fabio & Grooverider Up Close & Personal is at The Nottinghill Arts Club, W11 3JQ, from 21:00 to 03:00 (last entry 01:00), 18+, drum and bass, jungle and old skool; no price is shown. At Ministry of Sound the only listing found is Raver Tots NYE, a family rave from 12:30 to 14:45.

What has not been announced for New Year's Eve 2026 in London yet?

• fabric: its website listed events only up to 1 November 2026. The 2025/26 page found is CAYA by fabric: New Year's Day on Thursday 1 January 2026, 22:00 to 05:00, with photo ID required.
• Ministry of Sound adult night: no page found. In 2025/26 the line-up was reported on 26 November 2025, with Resident Advisor tickets from £20.
• Second fireworks batch: no date.
• TfL services: a guide dated 17 August 2026 says details will be confirmed in autumn 2026, and National Rail overnight trains are usually published in November or December.

How did getting home work last year, and what applies now?

For 2026 the City Hall page says transport will be much busier than usual and does not mention night services. Westminster, Golden Jubilee, Lambeth, Blackfriars and Waterloo bridges cannot be used before or after the show, and some roads stay closed on 1 January for the London Parade 2027.

2025/26 pattern (Taxi Point, 29 December 2025): the Tube and Elizabeth line ran all night on reduced Saturday timetables, the DLR ran every 15 minutes after 00:30, and there was no free travel. Westminster closed from 21:30 and Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus and Blackfriars from 23:30. Black cabs added a £4 surcharge per journey from 20:00 on 31 December to 06:00 on 2 January. None of this is confirmed for 2026/27.
