Four-room superclub in a former bus depot at Elephant & Castle, open Tuesday, Friday and Saturday nights.

Ministry of Sound opened in 1991 in a converted bus depot on Gaunt Street and is still the best-known club name in Britain. The Box is the main room, joined by The 103, Baby Box for newer DJs and The Loft for more underground bookings. A 2013 renovation added a courtyard, balconies and an upgraded sound system.

The music runs from house and disco to techno, garage and afrobeat, and the crowd mixes students, visitors and people who came for the headliner. Doors open at 22:30, last entry is 03:00 at weekends and there is no re-entry. Not for you if you want a small room or a relaxed door: there is a dress code, and it is enforced.
