Lisbon's New Year's Eve 2026 falls on Thursday 31 December, and the city has not yet published its Terreiro do Paço programme. This post covers the one party confirmed for 2026/27, the 2025/26 pattern for the free Réveillon, access rules and night transport, and what remains unannounced.

No 2026/27 programme is published. In 2025/26 the Viva 2026! event, run by EGEAC – Lisboa Cultura, was free and billed as suitable from age six. DJ Mojo and MC Márcio Jesus opened at 21:30, Plutónio played at 22:30, a pyro-musical show with drones ran at 23:55 and fireworks over the Tagus followed at midnight. EGEAC puts the fireworks at ten minutes, synchronised with 250 drones. A reggaeton show with DJ Mojo and MC Helder Tavares followed, and celebrations ended at 01:00. EGEAC's programme article is dated 12 December 2025.
In 2024/25 the headliners were José Cid and Mickael Carreira; mayor Carlos Moedas expected more than 100,000 people and the cost was about €500,000, according to Diário de Notícias.
Traffic was cut from 16:00 around Terreiro do Paço, the Baixa Pombalina, Rossio and Cais do Sodré. The Terreiro do Paço Metro station closed at 17:00 and the square closed to pedestrians and vehicles at 18:00 for security checks. It opened at 19:30, and the city asked people to arrive by 21:00. There were six entrances, all with searches: Rua do Arsenal, Rua do Ouro, Rua Augusta, Rua dos Fanqueiros, Rua da Alfândega and Avenida Infante D. Henrique, the last for people with reduced mobility. Banned items included blunt or dangerous objects, glass bottles (champagne included) and umbrellas. Shared bikes and scooters were deactivated from 13:00 to 06:00.
Nothing is published for 2026/27. In 2025/26 Metro de Lisboa ran to its usual 01:00 on 1 January and reopened at 06:30, with extra trains on the Blue line. The year before it ran to 03:00 on the Blue and Green lines, so the extension is not a fixed pattern. Carris kept its night lines running, though Baixa closures affected them. CP added Rossio–Sintra departures at 01:20, 01:40, 02:00, 02:20, 02:40, 03:00, 04:00 and 05:00 and Cais do Sodré–Cascais departures at 02:00, 03:00 and 04:00. Ferries added departures on all river crossings. No 2025/26 report mentions free travel.
Fever lists ICONIK Midnight: New Year's Eve at ICON Rooftop, Hyatt Regency Lisbon, Rua da Junqueira 65, on Thursday 31 December 2026 from 23:00 to 02:00. The single €120 ticket covers a DJ, an open bar with three cocktails and a toast to 2027, and the page mentions fireworks viewed near the 25 de Abril Bridge. The DJ is not named, and the page gives no age limit or availability.
For clubs, nothing was found. Lux Frágil has events on ma.to up to 27 November 2026 and none for 31 December, though the page showed only part of a longer listing. Ministerium Club, at Praça do Comércio 72 on the same square as the official event, has only September 2026 nights on Techno Airlines (last checked 30 September). Village Underground's site blocks automated reading, and Estado Líquido's site shows only the title “Encerrado!” (closed).
2025/26 patterns: Neopop x Fuse Records took over the Coliseu dos Recreios on 31 December 2025 with Jeff Mills and 14 other acts, and Arroz Estúdios ran two rooms from 23:00 to 12:00. Sábado quoted Arroz at €16.50 until 18 December, then €22, while Resident Advisor shows 25 with no currency.

No New Year's Eve rule is published. Resident Advisor lists 19+ for a Ministerium night on 30 May 2026, while Techno Airlines lists 18+ for the club.
