Ministerium opened on 1 December 2012 inside the former Finance Ministry building on Praça do Comércio, the big riverside square at the bottom of the Baixa. It started as a Saturday-only night and grew into one of the city's main rooms for electronic music, booking Portuguese and international techno and house DJs at weekends.
It is the easiest big club to reach: Terreiro do Paço metro is on the square and Cais do Sodré is a short walk west along the river. Opening nights and door prices change with the booking, so check the line-up before you go. Not for you if you want commercial hits: this is a room for people who came for the DJ.
