What Budapest has confirmed for 31 December 2026, what Akvárium Klub, Instant-Fogas and A38 ran last year, how the all-night transport worked and where fireworks are allowed.
New Year’s Eve falls on Thursday 31 December 2026. Budapest pages already confirm a goa night at Dürer Kert and a spa party at Széchenyi Baths on Wednesday 30 December, while the big club nights have not been listed yet.
This post separates those facts from last year’s pattern at Akvárium Klub, Instant-Fogas and A38. The 2026/27 transport plan is unannounced. See the Budapest nightlife guide for venues.
Facts checked on 25 October 2026. New Year's Eve line-ups, prices and sold-out status change often and many are announced in November and December, so confirm on the organiser page before you book.
Dürer Kert (Öböl utca 1) lists Psylvestrance 2026 on Thursday 31 December 2026 at 21:00. The Psybaba and goa.hu crowds run three stages: the Goa.hu Main Stage with Avalon, Danger vs Beyond, Oleg, Eltawave and Alphakey; the Psybaba Stage with Sick Noise (Serbia), Liora (Ukraine) and three Psybaba Records acts; and the Fotelbár with NoNameLeft and four others. The page shows no price, doors time or age limit, links to a Facebook event for tickets and marks the night “Teljes ház”, which normally means full house.
The Széchenyi Baths page for the “Pre-New Year’s Eve Bath Party / Cinetrip Sparty” names Wednesday 30 December 2026, from 21:30 to 02:00, at €75 for basic entry with locker, €89 for premium with drink coupons and €139 for express with fast-track entry. It says both “tickets are on sale now” and “the date is to be confirmed later on”. Hungary Unlocked (23 October 2026) reports tickets from €90, and the Sparty booking site listed only Saturday dates to 21 November on 25 October. Treat the party and its price as unconfirmed.
None of the three has a 31 December 2026 night yet. Akvárium Klub lists concerts to 29 December and then 8 January 2027. Instant-Fogas shows events only to 30 October, and Hungary Unlocked reported on 23 October that nothing was on sale. The A38 calendar has no 31 December entry.
Last year’s pattern, from Time Out Budapest (17 December 2025): Akvárium’s “Carnival Countdown” had doors at 21:00 and advance tickets from HUF 12,990; Instant-Fogas sold “Budapest Panorama” at HUF 16,000 in pre-sale and HUF 19,000 at the door, with entry after 04:00 for HUF 7,000; and the “Garçons + Hello” party on the A38 boat opened at 22:30 and ran until 05:00, at HUF 12,000 (VIP HUF 25,000). These are 2025/26 figures, not 2026/27 prices.
BKK’s 2026/27 plan is not published: its newest news item on 25 October 2026 is dated 30 September. In 2025/26 BKK posted its plan on 17 December 2025 and updated it on 29 December. On the night of 31 December to 1 January the M1, M2, M3 and M4 metro lines and all HÉV lines ran all night, along with trams 4, 6, 14, 47, 50 and 56A, trolleybus 75 and buses 5, 8E, 16 and 223E. Tram 17, trolleybus 80 and bus 7 (as 7B) ran modified routes, and airport buses 100E and 200E kept their normal timetables. Several night buses changed routes, and some, including 907A, 914A and 916, did not run.
A Budapest assembly decree in force since 15 December 2025 limits category 2 and 3 fireworks to 20:00 on 31 December to 02:00 on 1 January, and bans them all day on both dates in protected zones around residential buildings, per 444.hu and We Love Budapest. Hungary Unlocked (updated 23 October 2026) says the decree has no expiry date, so it applies to 31 December 2026. On fines, 444.hu cites HUF 200,000 to 1.2 million for breaking the decree and up to HUF 200,000 for firecrackers, while Hungary Unlocked gives a maximum of HUF 200,000 without saying which offence that covers. Firecrackers (petárda) are banned nationwide all year.
There was no official display over the bridges in 2025/26, according to Time Out. The Advent Bazilika market at Szent István tér runs from 13 November 2026 to 1 January 2027 per its own site, which gives no 31 December hours; Hungary Unlocked lists 11:00 to 03:00 but calls the closing time unclear.
