What Glasgow has confirmed for Hogmanay on 31 December 2026, why there is no official street party, and last year’s club hours, night transport and fireworks rules.
New Year’s Eve falls on Thursday 31 December 2026. Glasgow has no official Hogmanay street party, so the night is run by venues: Red Sky Bar and Barrowland Ballroom have listed parties from 20:00 to 01:00, and Blackfriars runs to 02:00.
No SWG3 or Sub Club night was found, and the transport plan is unannounced. See the Glasgow nightlife guide for venues.
Facts checked on 1 November 2026. New Year’s Eve line-ups, prices and sold-out status change often and many are announced in November and December, so confirm on the organiser page before you book.
No council-run street party has been found. Glasgow City Council scrapped its George Square Hogmanay event in 2011, putting the public subsidy at about £34 a head on top of a £19 ticket, with weak attendance, according to The Scotsman and The List. Visit Glasgow’s 2025/26 list names no council-run event, only commercial ones such as the ticketed Ashton Lane Hogmanay Street Party, which it puts at about 3,000 people. For 2026/27, Skiddle lists a Hogmanay Street Party at Jinty McGuinty’s on Ashton Lane from 19:00 to 01:00; no price was found.
At Red Sky Bar in Radisson RED, “Electric Dreams” runs 20:00 to 01:00 with Jon Mancini B2B Michael Kilkie on four decks and a live PA from Paige Turley. The hotel sells it as a package: a night for two with breakfast and two tickets, from £299 for a standard room, non-refundable. No ticket-only price was found.
Barrowland Ballroom lists a Hogmanay Party from 20:00 to 01:00 with a live covers band, a ceilidh band, DJs, a sax player and pipers. Early-bird tickets are on sale; the price and age limit are not shown.
Blackfriars on Bell Street runs Hogmanay 2026 from 19:30 to 02:00, last entry 23:30, 18+, with Paul Mooney opening and Big Duffy and the Goods headlining; tickets do not guarantee a table. The Ferry on Anderson Quay holds a ceilidh from 21:00 to 02:00, 18+, with the Coila Ceilidh Band, a caller and a resident DJ, plus an optional three-course dinner with arrival from 18:30. The Corinthian Club appears twice: Ents24 gives 19:00 to 04:00, while Skiddle lists a house-music party from 22:00 to 03:00, so check which ticket you are buying.
SWG3 ran Joy Orbison B2B Ben UFO on 31 December 2025 from 21:00 to 03:00, with tickets at £37 to £41 on Skiddle. Its 2026/27 calendar has no 31 December event yet; the nearest is FLY x Solus with East End Dubs on 30 December at 22:00, 18+. Audio’s 2025 night with Ragetrain and OBLVN ran 19:00 to 03:00 with last entry at 01:30. Sub Club has no 31 December 2026 listing that could be found. Treat the 2025/26 figures as a guide only.
Nothing is published for 31 December 2026. ScotRail said on 30 December 2025 that last trains would leave earlier than normal, that no trains would run on New Year’s Day and that 2 January would start late. SPT’s 2024/25 notice put the Subway at 06:30 to 23:00 on 31 December, last trains from the city centre at 22:30, and closed all day on 1 January. SPT’s current festive page, which gives no year, shows 06:30 to 22:30 and the same 1 January closure.
McGill’s 2025/26 guide put buses on a Saturday timetable on Hogmanay, some finishing early, and none on New Year’s Day, and said Glasgow NightBus would run as normal without giving hours. Check the 2026/27 plan before going out, because the Subway closed before midnight in 2024/25.
No council fireworks display was found, and Visit Glasgow’s list does not mention one. Glasgow’s firework control zones, in force for the first time on 1 to 10 November 2025, made it an offence to set off fireworks in Pollokshields, Govanhill and Broomhouse, gardens included, with up to six months in prison or a £5,000 fine, according to STV. No zones for Hogmanay 2026 were found. Scotland’s 2022 fireworks Act names 26 December to 2 January as a permitted window for category F2 and F3 fireworks, but the statute text still marks that section as not in force, so treat the window as unconfirmed.
Glasgow Licensing Board publishes a festive hours policy each year, and its extensions apply automatically to premises whose operating plan refers to it. The 2024/25 version let city-centre premises open one hour beyond their normal closing time from 23 November to 2 January. The 2026/27 policy was not visible on 1 November, so closing times depend on each venue’s licence; current listings end between 01:00 and 04:00.
Buy through the venue or organiser: Skiddle, Ents24 or the hotel’s own page. The Radisson package cannot be refunded. Check last-entry times, such as 23:30 at Blackfriars, and carry ID for the 18+ nights. Closing times and entry prices for every NightFind city are in NightFind’s nightlife data.

No council-run party was found. The council dropped its George Square event in 2011. The Ashton Lane Hogmanay Street Party is a ticketed commercial event, and Jinty McGuinty’s lists a 2026 version from 19:00 to 01:00.
Red Sky Bar, Barrowland Ballroom, Blackfriars and The Ferry have listed 31 December 2026 events, and Skiddle also lists Hardpoint at Audio from 22:00 to 04:00.
Not announced yet. In 2024/25 the Subway closed at 23:00 and stayed shut on 1 January, and in 2025/26 ScotRail brought last trains forward and ran none on New Year’s Day.
No council display was found. Glasgow’s firework control zones applied in November 2025, and none has been announced for Hogmanay 2026.
Current listings end between 01:00 and 04:00, depending on each venue’s licence. Glasgow Licensing Board’s 2026/27 festive hours policy has not been seen yet.
