What Hamburg has confirmed for 31 December 2026: Fabrik, KENT Club and Karoline parties, HVV night service, Binnenalster fireworks rules and the Elbphilharmonie Plaza.
New Year’s Eve falls on Thursday 31 December 2026. Three Hamburg parties already have ticket pages, each starting at 21:00, but the televised harbour show, the HVV night plan and the 2026/27 police fireworks order are not out yet.
This post separates what is confirmed from last year’s pattern, lays out the Binnenalster fireworks zone and shows when the Elbphilharmonie Plaza closes. See the Hamburg nightlife guide for venues.
Facts checked on 1 November 2026. New Year’s Eve line-ups, prices and sold-out status change often and many are announced in November and December, so confirm on the organiser page before you book.
Fabrik lists its Ü30/40 Silvesterparty for Thursday 31 December 2026 at 21:00. The Eventim page shows €25.50 for free seating, including VAT and sales fees, with a booking fee of up to €1.50 on top. KENT Club lists “Silvester Spirit” at 21:00 with standing at €42.60, seated at €70.10 and seated with snacks and dips at €86.60. Karoline, near the Messe, advertises “Hamburgs größte All Inclusive Silvesterparty” from 21:00 with all drinks, including long drinks, in the ticket price. The early-bird ticket is €105.01 plus up to €3 booking fee. KENT Club and Karoline also appear in the Hamburg Tourismus event calendar.
StrandPauli has a “New Year’s Eve 2026” section on its own site: an indoor, heated party with a live DJ, fondue and a drinks flat rate, with a view over the Elbe and the harbour. The page gives no date, start time or price.
Last year’s pattern (hamburg.de, 2025/26): Molotow opened its doors at 23:00 with advance tickets at €19 plus fees and €22 at the box office. Knust ran its Heartphone party from 23:00 at €20 in advance and €25 at the door. Fabrik started at 21:00 with advance tickets at €21, and MS Stubnitz started at 22:00 with tickets at €28. On 1 November the calendars of Molotow, Knust and Uebel & Gefährlich showed no New Year’s Eve 2026 entry yet.
Silvester in Concert, the televised show on a floating stage at Chicagokai in the Überseequartier, is documented only for 2025/26 on the organiser’s site. That edition had early-bird tickets from €32 plus fees. According to hamburg.de, entry started at 18:00, the HVV fare was included in the ticket price, children under 12 were not admitted and ID was required. Guests’ own fireworks were banned on the grounds. No 2026 edition is announced.
The Elbphilharmonie lists the Plaza as open 10:00 to 18:00 on 31 December, with last admission at 17:30. A Plaza ticket costs €5 from 5 October 2026, per hamburg.de, and concert tickets include Plaza access from two hours before the performance. The December 2026 concert programme could not be read, so any New Year’s Eve concerts there are unconfirmed.
No city-run fireworks show appears on the official Hamburg pages checked for this guide.
HVV has not published the 2026/27 plan. It released the 2025/26 plan on 12 December 2025 and the 2024/25 plan in mid-December 2024, and the two follow the same pattern. In 2025/26 a special timetable began in the early afternoon, followed by continuous night service. U-Bahn and S-Bahn trains ran every 20 minutes to their terminals, with hourly service to Stade.
Some lines ran more often in the centre: the U1 every 10 minutes between Ohlsdorf and Farmsen until about 02:30, the U3 every 10 minutes with a 5-minute ring from about 22:30 to 01:30, the S1 every 10 minutes between Othmarschen and Hauptbahnhof and the S3 every 10 minutes between Altona and Harburg Rathaus until about 02:30. The U4 ran only between Elbbrücken and Jungfernstieg. Buses paused for about an hour around midnight, the harbour ferries ran a special timetable, and 1 January followed the Sunday and public holiday timetable.
Category F2 fireworks may be used only on 31 December and 1 January. Under Hamburg’s standing district-office order, bang-only F2 items such as firecrackers are allowed only from 18:00 on 31 December to 01:00 on 1 January. Breaking the rule is an offence with a fine of up to €50,000, per the police order. Buyers must be 18, and consumer sales are limited to the last days of December.
For 2025/26 the Hamburg police banned carrying and using F2, F3 and F4 fireworks around the Binnenalster and Rathausmarkt, covering Jungfernstieg, Neuer Jungfernstieg, Lombardsbrücke, Ballindamm, Reesendamm and the Rathausmarkt, from 18:00 on 31 December to 01:00 on 1 January. The order was signed on 27 November 2025 and published on 9 December 2025, and the same zone and hours applied in 2023/24. The 2026/27 order is not published yet.
No nationwide ban is in force. In December 2025 the government said it saw no clear majority for further bans. No confirmed change for 2026/27 has been found.
Check whether a ticket price includes fees, because the Eventim prices above include sales fees and some add a booking fee. Carry ID and check the HVV page before you plan a return trip after 01:00. Fabrik (Ü30/40 party, €25.50), KENT Club (Silvester Spirit, from €42.60) and Karoline (all-inclusive, early bird €105.01) all list 21:00 starts on 31 December 2026.
