The 10 best clubs in Hamburg for 2026, from the Feldstraße bunker to the Golden Pudel Club, with entry prices, age rules, closing times and how to get home.
The best clubs in Hamburg are not always where visitors expect them. The Reeperbahn has the neon and the crowds, but some of the rooms with the strongest bookings sit in a wartime bunker on Feldstraße, a small house on the Fischmarkt, a riverside venue on the Große Elbstraße and a ship moored in HafenCity. This is also a band city first. Several clubs below run a concert at 20:00 and a separate party after midnight, with a new ticket and stricter age rules for the second half. That makes Hamburg flexible: you can see a gig, walk ten minutes and still dance until morning, because most party listings say 'open end' instead of a closing time. The list mixes electronic rooms, indie and live-music clubs and one mainstream weekend party, and each entry says who should skip it.
We ranked clubs on five things: the sound and the booking, the crowd, how the door works, how late the night runs and what it costs to get in. Every venue on the list was checked against its own website or current programme for 2026, and the opening times, age rules and prices come from those pages. Where a club does not publish a fact, we say so rather than guess. We left out venues we could not confirm were still operating, which is why some well-known names are missing. The order is editorial judgement.
A ballroom on the fourth floor of a Second World War flak tower, named club of the year three times, with parties that start at 23:59 and list no end. The bookings run from electronic to indie, and the room holds around 1,000. Skip it if you are under 18: there are no exceptions and no consent forms.
A small house from 1872 on the Fischmarkt with a programme every night of the week, from experimental electronics to afro and bass. It rebuilt itself after a fire in 2016 and still feels like the city's most independent room. Skip it if you want a big rig and a light show.
The Reeperbahn's indie institution since 1990, now at Reeperbahn 136 on the site of the old Top Ten Club. Gigs from 19:00 give way to themed parties from 23:00. Skip it if you want polished house music; this is guitars, post-punk and emo nights.
A riverside venue on the Große Elbstraße that turns 30 in 2026, with a main room and the smaller Goldener Salon. The programme leans dark: goth, post-punk, dark wave and electronic. Skip it if you want chart music or a dressed-up night.
An acid jazz and dancefloor jazz pioneer founded in 1989, reopened in 2013 under the Tanzende Türme on two levels for up to 800 people. Concerts and DJ nights in soul, funk, jazz and disco. Skip it if you are under 21, because club nights are 21+.
A concert hall with the Kaiserkeller in the basement, where the Beatles played from October 1960. Every Friday and Saturday the XXL Party is free, with hip-hop and Deutschrap downstairs. Skip it if you want an underground booking; this is the Reeperbahn's mainstream weekend.
An 80-metre ship moored in HafenCity, run by a non-profit as a venue for noise, punk, experimental and leftfield electronic nights. Nothing else in the city feels like it. Skip it if you want to bar-hop afterwards; the area is quiet late at night.
One of the larger rooms around the Reeperbahn, on Spielbudenplatz, booking metal, goth, rap and electronic tours. Go for the act and keep the rest of the night for the strip outside. Skip it if you want a club night without a ticket.
A concert club in the old slaughterhouse cattle hall on Neuer Kamp, with rock, indie, folk and electronic acts from 20:00. It pairs well with the bunker afterwards. Skip it if you only want to dance.
A flexible room next to Docks that runs live music, electronic art, comedy, theatre and club nights through the week, with an awareness team on site. It rounds off the list because it changes from night to night. Skip it if you want a club with a fixed weekly residency.
Most of this list fits into one district. Molotow, Docks, Bahnhof Pauli, Mojo Club and Große Freiheit 36 are all on or just off the Reeperbahn, and the Golden Pudel Club and Hafenklang are ten to fifteen minutes downhill by the water. Uebel & Gefährlich and Knust are one U3 stop away at Feldstraße. MS Stubnitz is the outlier, out at Elbbrücken in HafenCity, so give it a night of its own. On Friday and Saturday nights the U-Bahn and S-Bahn run all night, the U-Bahn every 20 minutes, which makes moving between areas easy. On weeknights the U-Bahn stops around 01:00 and night buses numbered in the 600s take over. A Hamburg AB day ticket costs €8.20 and stays valid until 06:00 the next morning, so buy one before you head out.
Hamburg rewards a plan that mixes a gig with a late room. Start with our Hamburg nightlife guide for closing times, prices and transport, then use the guide to Hamburg's nightlife neighbourhoods to decide where to base the night. When a big name plays Uebel & Gefährlich or Molotow, tickets go early, so check tickets for Hamburg nights out before the weekend. Bring photo ID, carry a card and some cash, and if you are still up on Sunday, the Fischmarkt opens at 05:00 from April to October.
Most club nights have no fixed end. Venues such as Uebel & Gefährlich list parties as 'open end', so the night runs as long as the floor holds. Concerts in the same buildings usually finish well before midnight.
St. Pauli. The Reeperbahn has the most clubs in one place, the harbourfront below it has the Golden Pudel Club and Hafenklang, and Feldstraße has Uebel & Gefährlich and Knust.
Anything from free to around €20 for a party. The XXL Party at Große Freiheit 36 is free every Friday and Saturday, while Molotow ranges from free to €51.65 depending on the act. Concerts are priced per show.
18 for most parties, with photo ID. Mojo Club nights are 21+, and Uebel & Gefährlich does not accept parental consent forms. Several venues let 16- and 17-year-olds into concerts until midnight.
None of the clubs on this list publishes one. The exception is up high: the 20up skyline bar asks for smart casual. Mojo Club makes you check bags larger than A4 at the cloakroom.
