What Dublin has confirmed for 31 December 2026, including the NYF Dublin Countdown Concert and a Workman’s Club party, plus last year’s club hours, night transport and fireworks rules.
New Year’s Eve falls on Thursday 31 December 2026. Dublin has confirmed the NYF Dublin Countdown Concert at Dublin Castle, headlined by Aaron Rowe with early-bird tickets at €44.90, and a 2000s party at The Workman’s Club from 22:00 to 02:30.

The NYF Dublin programme runs from Wednesday 30 December 2026 to Friday 1 January 2027 around Dublin Castle and Meeting House Square. The main ticketed night is the Countdown Concert at the castle on 31 December. Aaron Rowe headlines, with The Academic, THEATRE, KK Lewis and DJ Shelly Gray. It is strictly over-18s, early-bird tickets cost €44.90 and Ticketmaster adds a service charge of 12.5% per ticket, capped at €10.50. Tickets went on sale on 30 September. Set times and doors are not published yet.
A family-friendly Countdown Concert Matinee also runs at Dublin Castle on 31 December, again with The Academic, THEATRE, KK Lewis and DJ Shelly Gray. The page lists €9.90 single and €24.90 for a family of two adults and two children, plus fees, says under-16s need an adult and calls the event subject to licence. The programme also names Echoes of Ireland concerts, a Music Trail, a street procession and New Year’s Day concerts on 1 January 2027, with no details yet.
For a club night, The Workman’s Club on Wellington Quay lists the “So Fetch – 2000s New Years Eve Party” on Thursday 31 December 2026 from 22:00 to 02:30, with last entry at 01:00. It is strictly 18+ with ID, and a ticket guarantees entry only before 23:00; after that you may have to queue. Fatsoma shows early bird at €6, advance at €7, student at €8 and general admission at €10, each plus a €1 booking fee, yet it also reads “tickets on sale soon”, so check the ticket link before relying on those prices.
No other Dublin club night for 31 December 2026 was found, so last year’s pattern is the best guide. On 31 December 2025 the Insight party at Button Factory with Alex Stein and Dellucht ran until 03:00, and Pygmalion at 59 William Street South had John Talabot from 20:00 to 02:30. Both ticket pages show no prices and read “sales ended”.
The Irish Times event guide of 26 December 2025 listed The Workman’s Club at 21:00 for €18 and Whelan’s at 21:00 for €25.50, marked sold out. DesignMyNight listed The Odeon on Harcourt Street from €15, 19:00 to 03:00. These are 2025/26 figures, not 2026/27 prices.
Transport for Ireland has not published 2026/27 arrangements. Its NYF Dublin page marks Dublin Bus, Night Luas and Irish Rail details “tbc” and warns of road diversions throughout the festival. The 2025/26 pattern is the best guide, with one caveat: 31 December 2025 was a Wednesday and 31 December 2026 is a Thursday.
In 2025/26 Dublin Bus ran a Saturday timetable with extra peak trips, full Nitelink and all 24-hour routes; New Year’s Day ran a Sunday timetable without Nitelink. Luas ran Saturday hours plus Night Luas on both lines, with the last Red Line tram leaving the city centre at 03:00 and 03:30 given for the last Green Line tram. Irish Rail added late trains after midnight to Howth, Greystones, Dundalk, Maynooth and Kildare, for example Pearse to Howth at 01:30 and 02:30.
In 2025/26 the NYF fireworks were free displays at Howth Harbour and on Dún Laoghaire’s east pier, both at 19:00 on 31 December, with extra DARTs. The 2026/27 NYF pages do not mention fireworks and Fingal County Council’s listing has no 2026 announcement, so a repeat is unconfirmed.
Setting off your own is a legal risk: the Department of Justice says bangers and rockets cannot be possessed or lit without a licence, with fines up to €10,000, up to five years in prison, or both. Licensing hours have not changed. The Sale of Alcohol Bill, which proposed 06:00 closing for nightclubs, had not passed by the Irish Times report of 7 July 2026 or RTÉ’s of 19 March 2026, and pubs still need a €205-a-night special exemption order to trade two extra hours. Buy only through the organiser’s own link: NYF Dublin sells through Ticketmaster and The Workman’s Club through Fatsoma. Ticketmaster’s service charge sits on top of the face price. In 2025/26 the Dublin Castle evening show was already sold out by 30 December, and Whelan’s sold out too.
