Wexford Street music venue with five spaces, gigs most nights and the Whelan's Indie Club on Friday and Saturday from 22:30 for €10.
Whelan's at 25 Wexford Street calls itself Dublin's home of music for over 70 years, and Time Out credits it with early gigs by Hozier and Glen Hansard. It has five spaces: the main venue, Upstairs, Little Whelan's, the Front Bar, open daily with no ticket needed, and the Parlour Bar for private events. Touring and local acts play most nights, from The Blow Monkeys to The Amazons in October 2026.
On Friday and Saturday the Whelan's Indie Club starts at 22:30 for €10, with karaoke from 23:00. The building opens at 17:00 and closes at 01:30 from Monday to Thursday, 02:30 on Friday and Saturday and 01:00 on Sunday. Not for you if you want dance music: this is guitars and singalongs.
Front Bar is walk-in; gigs are ticketed; the Indie Club is €10 at the door on Friday and Saturday.
