Which Copenhagen nights are listed for New Year’s Eve 2026?

Culture Box (Kronprinsessegade 54) lists its New Year’s Eve party for Thursday 31 December 2026, from 22:00 to 10:00, as a techno and house night for ages 18 and over. The line-up includes Tim Andresen, NILU, Rexie Lex and Aja Gulris, and set times are not posted yet. The listing has a buy-tickets button and no sold-out notice, and it shows 295 without naming the currency. Last year’s party ran the same 22:00 to 10:00 hours at 295; the presale sold out, and the club said limited tickets might be available at the door, with one person admitted for each person leaving once the club was full.

Jazzhus Montmartre shows no concert on 31 December 2026. Its calendar lists Bobo Moreno & The Soul Shakers on Tuesday 29 December at 20:00 (last few tickets) and an extra concert with Bobo Moreno, Ole Kock Hansen and Bo Stief on Wednesday 30 December at 20:00 (sold out). The next listed concert is on 1 February 2027.

A list of techno nights for December 2026 shows Culture Box as the only entry on 31 December. Hangaren has dates on 4, 5 and 12 December in that list and Poolen on 11, 12 and 18 December, with nothing later. The Copenhagen nightlife guide covers the venues that have not yet announced anything.

What did Den Anden Side and Pumpehuset run in 2025/26?

Den Anden Side and Pumpehuset ran a joint “26 Hour Silvester” from 31 December 2025 into 1 January 2026. Den Anden Side opened at 23:00 and closed at 11:00, and Pumpehuset followed for 14 hours. A full-access wristband cost DKK 355 in presale (DKK 325 early bird) and DKK 375 at the door; Den Anden Side alone was DKK 255 in presale. The age limit was 20+. No 2026/27 edition appeared in the listings checked on 1 November, so these figures are last year’s, not this year’s.

How do you get home on New Year’s Eve in Copenhagen?

Visit Copenhagen says the metro runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with fewer departures at night, and the metro operator’s timetable page lists separate night intervals. No New Year’s Eve notice for 2026 was found.

DSB’s night-service page says S-trains run all night on Fridays and Saturdays between 00:00 and 06:00, and twice an hour on the night before every public holiday. As 1 January is a public holiday, that rule should cover the night of 31 December, but the page does not mention New Year’s Eve by name, so check the DSB timetable. Night buses for 31 December could not be confirmed. Check the journey planner on the day, and expect most cafés and restaurants to be closed on 1 January.

Where do people gather, and what are the fireworks rules?

Visit Copenhagen names City Hall Square (Rådhuspladsen) as the main New Year’s gathering: people watch the town hall clock and fireworks go off at midnight. Visit Denmark lists the square and Dronning Louises Bro as popular spots, and Visit Copenhagen adds the Lakes. Neither gives a programme, times or tickets, and no city-run event for 2026 was found. Tivoli’s fireworks page lists the New Year’s Eve display at 23:00, included in garden admission and liable to cancellation in poor visibility or extreme weather, but the page prints no year, so confirm it before you plan around it.

Private individuals may set off fireworks only on 31 December and 1 January; shops may sell them from 15 to 31 December. Neither the official citizen portal nor the government’s fact sheet gives hours. Using consumer fireworks outside those two days carries a fine of DKK 2,500, and prosecution guidance for offences since 1 July 2024 sets that as the minimum starting point. Fireworks must carry a CE mark, shops may not sell them to anyone under 18, and the portal sets a minimum distance of 100 metres from buildings with easily flammable roofs. A municipality can also ban fireworks in an area for fire or injury risk.

What has not been announced yet?

  • Any city programme or hours for City Hall Square on 31 December 2026.
  • A 2026/27 edition of the Den Anden Side and Pumpehuset all-night party.
  • Culture Box set times, ticket phases and whether the 295 price is in kroner.
  • Metro, S-train and bus timetables specific to the night of 31 December 2026.
  • Confirmation of the year on Tivoli’s New Year’s Eve fireworks listing.
