Tbilisi nightlife by neighbourhood: which area suits your night, from Sololaki cocktails and Vera wine bars to Chugureti courtyards and Bassiani at Dinamo Arena.
Tbilisi nightlife is spread across seven areas, and the distances matter more than in most cities. The Old Town and Sololaki are for bars, wine cellars and the courtyard parties at L'ado. Vera has the wine bars of Petriashvili Street. Chugureti, across the river, holds Fabrika, Meteor Studio and Left Bank. Bassiani stands alone at Dinamo Arena, KHIDI and Mtkvarze sit on the Mtkvari, and Sabagiro is out in Saburtalo. The metro stops around midnight, just as the big clubs open at 23:59, so every area ends with a Bolt. This guide takes the areas one by one, with the venues worth a stop, how to get there and who each area suits.
The Old Town is the oldest and most visited part of Tbilisi. Liberty Square metro is the closest station, and the streets are narrow, so taxis struggle to reach some doors. Walk out to a main street before you meet a Bolt. The district suits the early part of a night, and it has four useful stops.
Hopa Taproom on Atoneli Street, near the Orbeliani Bazaar, pours mostly Georgian craft beer and does a tasting flight, with outdoor seating. The Gin Corner at 1 Saiatnova Street stocks more than 220 gins, including its own house gin, Ethno. Brown's Bar on Jerusalem Square is a long-running expat pub with football, rugby and Formula 1 on the screens, trivia nights and live bands. For dancing, L'ado on Lado Gudiashvili Square runs YesYesYes day-to-night parties that start in the courtyard at 16:00 and move indoors; the September edition cost ₾15 and was 21+.
The Old Town suits first-time visitors who want a walkable evening of beer and gin before the clubs. Skip the bars on Shardeni Street, where travel guides warn of inflated bills. It does not suit anyone who wants a techno floor: the clubs are a Bolt ride away.
Sololaki is the oldest planned residential district in the city, with 19th-century Art Nouveau houses and bars in converted apartments. It is the best place to begin a night, and Liberty Square metro is within walking distance.
Apotheka Bar & Lounge at 8 Giorgi Leonidze Street is a cocktail bar in a former pharmacy that keeps decorations from 1902; cocktails cost about ₾25 (€9). Vino Underground at 15 Galaktion Tabidze Street is a brick-vaulted cellar for qvevri and other low-intervention wine, now under new management. Tsota Tsota Pub on Kikodze Street is the Megobrebi brewery's pub, with beers from about ₾8 (€3) and hybrids between beer and wine. Black Dog Bar on Lado Asatiani Street is a pet-friendly pub with a ₾1 jukebox; sources disagree on its opening hours, so check first.
Walk between the four, then take a Bolt to the clubs after 23:00. Sololaki suits couples, wine drinkers and anyone who likes to sit and talk. It does not suit a late night out, because there is no dance floor here.
Vera is upmarket and residential, and visitors describe it as wine bar after wine bar. Rustaveli metro is five to ten minutes away on foot, and the heart of the district is Petriashvili Street.
Wine Not? at 6 Petriashvili Street is a wine bar and bottle shop, with ₾5 off bottles to take away. A few doors away, Kikodze Bar is the cocktail bar inside Wine Factory N1, a former wine production site relaunched in 2017; it serves breakfast from 09:00. On Rustaveli Avenue, Cafe-Gallery at number 48 is a café by day and a club after midnight. Police raided it and Bassiani in May 2018. Regular club nights are rarely listed in 2026, so check Resident Advisor for the date; a Blue Balls night is listed for Saturday 17 October, 23:59 to 09:00, 18+.
Anti-government protests have been held on Rustaveli Avenue since the October 2024 election, so check local news before you walk along it. Vera suits an early evening with wine in a polished room. It does not suit a cheap, late round.
Chugureti is a historic, slightly edgy creative district on the left bank of the Mtkvari, and Aghmashenebeli Avenue is its main street. Marjanishvili and Station Square metro stations serve it until about midnight. Parts near Station Square are rough, so take a Bolt rather than a long walk late at night. It holds more of the scene than any other area, from courtyard bars to small clubs.
Start at Fabrika at 8 Egnate Ninoshvili Street, a former Soviet sewing factory turned into cafés, bars, studios and a hostel around an open courtyard. Unfound Door at 111 Aghmashenebeli Avenue is a cocktail bar in a 19th-century apartment house with a basement bar called -1, and Wine Merchants at 46 Javakhishvili Street is a calm wine bar with antique furniture and dry whites from ₾8 (€3). Aprili on Constitution Street is a local bar with affordable drinks, recommended for pre-drinks before Left Bank.
For dancing, Meteor Studio at Kosta Khetagurov Street 26 is a small 21+ club with numbered selector nights, ₾15 before midnight and ₾30 after, open until 05:00. Left Bank opens at 21:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, with an indoor floor, a courtyard clubnight from midnight and free Saturdays, until 08:00; Resident Advisor reports that its warehouse floor closed in February 2026. On Thursdays, Dedaena Bar in Dedaena Park hosts a free Dila Radio party of disco and house from 22:00 to 02:00.
The district suits anyone who wants a bar-to-club night in one place. It does not suit anyone after a polished, tourist-ready street scene.
Dinamo Arena is the 54,139-seat stadium north of the centre, and under it is Bassiani, the largest techno club in Georgia. The main room is the drained swimming pool, it opened in 2014 and holds about 1,200 people, and a second room, Horoom, hosts queer nights. Friday and Saturday nights run from 23:59 to 12:00, with the peak from about 03:00.
There is no bar crawl here: you plan the whole night around it. Tickets are for registered members, so sign up on bassiani.com or the app before you travel, and expect to be searched. Bags, umbrellas and cameras go to the cloakroom, and recording is banned. The door can refuse you without giving a reason. Entry in October 2026 ranged from ₾22 for a Horoom night to ₾112 for a large line-up (€8–39). Take a Bolt there and back, because the metro has stopped by the time the doors open.
It suits people who travel for techno. It does not suit anyone who needs to know they will get in.
The two river clubs stand on opposite banks, so treat them as separate nights and take a Bolt between them. KHIDI is built into the right embankment under the Vakhushti Bagrationi Bridge. It has a main floor, a second floor called G2 and an open-air yard called HAERI, and it marked its 10th anniversary in June 2026. G2 Saturdays run from 23:59 to 11:00 with tickets in tiers of ₾30, ₾40 and ₾50, and Switch Floors nights have run to 16:00. The calendar is not weekly: October lists the 16th, 17th and 30th.
Mtkvarze sits on the left bank in a former Soviet fish restaurant, with two rooms and a balcony over the water. It opened in 2012 and marks its 14th anniversary on 23 October 2026. Doors open at 23:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, entry is ₾15 before midnight and ₾40 after, and the night runs to 09:00. Photos and video are not allowed.
The riverside suits long, committed nights and anyone who wants a balcony and some air between sets. It does not suit a short evening: both clubs are built for the early hours.
Saburtalo is a Soviet-era residential district north-west of the centre with its own metro line. Its night-time draw is Sabagiro, a former cable car station in the Lisi area on Leo Kvachadze Street. It calls itself a space for music, art and community, and its PHASE parties are the regular club nights: PHASE012 is listed for Saturday 17 October, from 23:00 to 08:00, free before 23:59 and ₾30 after, 18+ with face control.
The venue gives no public-transport directions, and the metro has stopped by the time the night gets going, so book a Bolt both ways and use the plus code PPQR+GQG to find the entrance. Saburtalo suits people who want a night away from the tourist routes and are happy to travel for it. It does not suit anyone who wants a short ride home.
Pick the area for the kind of night you want. Sololaki is the easiest base for bars: it is walkable from Liberty Square metro, with cocktail rooms and wine cellars on its streets. Vera is quieter and more upmarket, with Rustaveli metro five to ten minutes away. Chugureti puts you closest to Fabrika, Meteor Studio and Left Bank, with Marjanishvili and Station Square metro nearby, though parts near Station Square are rough. The Old Town is central, but its narrow streets are hard for taxis. Fabrika also has its own hostel, which it describes as the biggest in the region. Whatever you choose, expect a Bolt home, because the metro stops around midnight. Browse hotels and hostels on our stay page.

One legal note: Georgia's drug laws are strict and were tightened in 2025, and clubs search guests at the door, so leave anything illegal at home. The penalties are set out in the FAQ on our Tbilisi page.
Chugureti has the most variety, with Fabrika, Meteor Studio, Left Bank and Dedaena Bar in one district. Sololaki and Vera are the best areas for bars and wine. The biggest clubs stand on their own: Bassiani at Dinamo Arena, KHIDI and Mtkvarze on the river.
Sololaki is the easiest base for bars, and it is walkable from Liberty Square metro. Chugureti puts you closest to Fabrika, Meteor Studio and Left Bank. Whichever you choose, you will need a Bolt home after midnight. See where to stay for places to book.
The metro runs from about 06:00 to midnight and costs ₾1 for 90 minutes. After that, use Bolt, which operates across the city. If you take a street taxi, agree the fare before you get in.
Anti-government protests have been held on Rustaveli Avenue since the October 2024 election, nightly for long stretches of 2025. Cafe-Gallery is the one venue in this guide on the avenue, so check local news before you plan a route along it.
Only within an area. Bars cluster in Sololaki, Vera and Chugureti. Bassiani, KHIDI, Mtkvarze and Sabagiro each stand apart, so treat each of them as a whole night and book a ride.
