The 9 best bars in Tbilisi, ranked: Apotheka, Vino Underground, The Gin Corner and more, with prices in lari, the area and one honest reason to skip each.
The best bars in Tbilisi are small, old and built around wine. Sololaki has the cocktail rooms and cellars, Vera has the wine bars on Petriashvili Street, and Chugureti has quieter places with antique furniture and basements. Prices are modest: a cocktail costs about ₾25 (€9), a beer about ₾8 (€3) and a glass of wine from about ₾8. Bars are also the early part of the night, because the big clubs do not open until 23:59 and the metro stops around midnight.
This list ranks nine bars and says plainly where each one falls short. Each entry gives the area, a price where one is published and one reason to skip it. Opening hours are published for very few of these places, so check each bar's own channels on the day. Once the bars wind down, our 10 best clubs in Tbilisi pick up the night.
We ranked bars on five things: drinks, setting, value, crowd and location. Drinks means a list with a point of view, such as natural wine, a gin library or a brewery's own beer. Setting means a room worth sitting in, from a 1902 pharmacy to a brick cellar. Value compares the price with what you get. Crowd means people who came to drink and talk. Location means you can reach the next stop easily. Every bar here appears in a bar guide updated in January 2026, and addresses and prices come from published guides. We do not sell tickets ourselves.
A cocktail bar in a former pharmacy on Leonidze Street that keeps many of its original decorations from 1902. It opened in October 2024, and cocktails cost about ₾25 (€9). Sololaki is the best district to start a night, and this is the room to start it in. Skip it if you want a cheap round: the wine bars nearby pour glasses from about ₾8.
A brick-vaulted cellar on Tabidze Street devoted to qvevri and other low-intervention wine, with four-wine tastings. It is billed as the first organic and bio wine venue in Tbilisi. A January 2026 guide notes new management, so the list may have changed. Skip it if you want cocktails or a loud room: this is a wine bar first and last.
The Gin Corner on Saiatnova Street stocks more than 220 gins, including its own house gin, Ethno. It did well enough to open a second place, House of Juniper, in summer 2025. It is a sensible stop between the Old Town and Sololaki. Skip it if you do not drink gin: there is little else to choose from.
A wine bar and bottle shop on Petriashvili Street, a few doors from Wine Factory N1. The list is long for the size of the room and includes chacha and dessert wines, and bottles to take away are ₾5 cheaper than drinking them in. A second branch on Lado Gudiashvili Square can host jazz in summer. Skip it if you want cocktails: the list is wine.
The pub of the Megobrebi brewery on Kikodze Street. Beers start at about ₾8 (€3), and the brewery also makes hybrid drinks that sit somewhere between beer and wine, which few other cities offer. It is a relaxed, cheap stop between the cocktail and wine bars of Sololaki. Skip it if you only drink lager: the point is the brewery's own range.
A cocktail bar in a 19th-century apartment house on Aghmashenebeli Avenue, the main street of Chugureti, with a second basement bar called -1. It sits in the same district as Fabrika, Meteor Studio and Dedaena Bar, so it fits a first or second stop before the clubs. Skip it if you want a dance floor: this is a place to sit down and talk.
A wine bar on Javakhishvili Street furnished with antiques. The list covers Georgian, French and Italian wine, with dry whites from ₾8 a glass (€3) and a Racha Tvishi at ₾15 (€5). The platters mix Georgian and European cheese and meat. Skip it if you want a party: it is a wine bar for talking.
A taproom on Atoneli Street near the Orbeliani Bazaar, pouring mostly Georgian craft beer, with a tasting flight and outdoor seating. The street has other small bars, including a wine window, so it suits the start of an Old Town evening. Skip it if you want cocktails or a late night: this is a beer stop.
The cocktail bar inside Wine Factory N1 on Petriashvili Street, a former wine production site relaunched in 2017 as a food and drink complex. It also serves breakfast from 09:00, so it runs from morning coffee to evening cocktails. Skip it if you want a dark, late bar: this is a polished, early-evening place.
Pick a district and walk. Sololaki is the easiest: Apotheka, Vino Underground and Tsota Tsota Pub are all there, and Liberty Square metro is within walking distance. Vera works the same way on Petriashvili Street, where Wine Not? and Kikodze Bar are a few doors apart and Rustaveli metro is five to ten minutes away. Chugureti lies across the river, with Unfound Door and Wine Merchants on its avenues.
The metro stops around midnight, and the clubs open at 23:59. If you plan to go on, leave the bars by 23:00 and book a Bolt. If you take a street taxi, agree the fare first. Black Dog Bar in Sololaki and Brown's Bar in the Old Town are also worth knowing, but their opening hours are not published, so they stay out of the ranking.
A good Tbilisi night starts with one glass and a plan. For closing times, the midnight metro and what a night costs, read our Tbilisi nightlife guide. To see how the districts fit together, our guide to Tbilisi nightlife by neighbourhood goes area by area, and where to stay helps you choose a base. When you are ready for the dance floor, find tickets on NightFind tickets, and read more on our Georgia country page. Check the hours on the day, because few of these bars publish them.
Our top pick is Apotheka Bar & Lounge, a cocktail bar in a former pharmacy on Leonidze Street in Sololaki that keeps many decorations from 1902. Cocktails cost about ₾25 (€9).
Vino Underground, a brick-vaulted cellar in Sololaki, pours qvevri and other low-intervention wines. Wine Not? in Vera and Wine Merchants in Chugureti are the other wine bars in this list, with glasses from about ₾8 (€3).
A cocktail at Apotheka is about ₾25 (€9). Beers at Tsota Tsota Pub start at about ₾8 (€3), and dry white wine at Wine Merchants starts at ₾8 a glass. Prices at other bars are not published.
Sololaki. Apotheka, Vino Underground and Tsota Tsota Pub are all there, Liberty Square metro is within walking distance, and the Old Town is a short walk away. Vera is the second choice for wine.
Closing times are not published for most of these bars. Listings for Black Dog Bar run until 02:00. Because the clubs open at 23:59, treat bars as the early part of the night and check each bar on the day.
