Mykonos nightlife by neighbourhood: where to go out

Mykonos nightlife by neighbourhood: which area suits your night, from Little Venice bars and Chora clubs to Paradise Beach, Paraga beach clubs and Psarou.

8 min read

Mykonos nightlife is spread across six areas, and each one does a different night. Chora and Little Venice are for bars, sunset, drag shows and the late rooms of the town. Paradise Beach has the island's biggest late club, Cavo Paradiso, plus beach parties from the afternoon. Super Paradise, Paraga and Psarou are for beach clubs that start at lunch, and Ftelia on the north coast has a lone beach bar with DJ sets.

Choose the area by the night you want, then check how you get home: taxis are scarce, and the buses stop long before the clubs close. This guide covers what each area is like, where to go and who it suits.

How we picked

Chora & Little Venice: bars, drag and the late town

Mykonos Town, also called Chora, is where the night ends up, and everything in it is on foot. Little Venice is the row of old fishing houses whose balconies hang over the sea, and at sunset its bars fill up. Scarpa is a compact bar on the water that a local guide says has been here for more than 40 years, listed open from 08:00 to 05:30. Semeli has been on the seafront since 2005 and has a resident DJ, and Katerina's on Agion Anargyron serves cocktails and seafood until 03:00. A short walk away, JackieO' Town Bar sits on the Paraportiani waterfront with a drag show every night in season and a close at 05:00, or 06:00 on Saturday. Above it all, 180° Sunset Bar has a castle terrace for sunset.

Inland, the Tria Pigadia area and Enoplon Dinameon hold the later rooms. Lío serves a cabaret dinner and turns into a club at 00:30, Bonbonniere is a table-led champagne club for guests aged 21 and over, Astra has been a lounge-then-club since 1987, and Queen of Mykonos pours champagne and cocktails. Alley on Mitropoleos is the calmer, all-day option. On Lakka Square, Void is a small room for deep house and techno, and Skandinavian has played summer hits since 1978. Blu Blu at the Old Port is a café and cocktail stop with a view back over the town.

To get home, walk, or use the taxi rank on Taxi Square. Taxis are scarce late at night. Chora suits first-timers, bar-hoppers and anyone who wants to walk back to the hotel. It does not suit anyone who wants a beach, a pool or a cheap night.

Paradise Beach: the party beach

Paradise Beach is the island's best-known party beach, and it has the most nights in one place. Paradise Beach Club belongs to the resort that has been here since 1969 and starts its parties at 16:30. Tropicana is the beach bar and restaurant next door, with an in-house DJ from the afternoon. At the end of the beach, on the hill, Cavo Paradiso opens at 23:00, puts its headliner on around 01:45 and runs to 07:00. It is strictly 18+, with ID, and asks for stylish, evening-appropriate clothes and no swimwear.

KTEL buses run from Fabrika to Paradise Beach, and in the October 2026 timetable the last departure was at 23:15, with the last return at 23:30. Water taxis run from the Old Port, and Cavo Paradiso lists private transfers and free valet parking. A 07:00 finish needs a pre-booked ride. The area suits people who plan a full day and night on one beach. It does not suit anyone who wants to move between bars.

Super Paradise: a beach club over the bay

Super Paradise is the next bay along, and another of the island's party beaches. JackieO' Beach Club sits above the water with a pool, a 360º open bar and a kitchen led by chef Ntinos Fotinakis. It opened for 2026 on 15 May, and Clubbable calls it the louder afternoon option of the island's beach clubs. Performers such as Athena Dion appear at the bar.

KTEL lists Super Paradise among its bus destinations, but check the timetable for the month, and book a taxi or transfer for the way back to Chora. The area suits a long afternoon with a pool. It does not suit a quiet swim or a late club night, and the details of hours and prices are not published.

Paraga: two big beach clubs

Paraga is on the south coast, and it has two of the island's best-known beach clubs on the same sand. SantAnna is an all-day club with a saltwater pool, cabanas and DJ days; its August 2026 calendar ran from The Martinez Brothers to Black Coffee and Joseph Capriati. Tickets are sold only on its own website. Scorpios is a restaurant, beach and terrace built around sunset, and its 2026 season ended on 4 October with WhoMadeWho.

In the October 2026 timetable, KTEL buses ran hourly from Fabrika to Paraga between 07:15 and 20:15, and the last return was at 20:25. That is far too early for a night out, so book a taxi or private transfer for the trip back. Paraga suits music fans who like to dance in daylight. It does not suit anyone who needs the night to run to dawn.

Psarou: Nammos and the yacht crowd

Psarou is a bay five minutes' drive south of Chora, and it is built around one name. Nammos is a Mediterranean beach restaurant and club with cabanas, yacht berthing, a helipad and valet parking. It is a long lunch that turns into an evening rather than a club night, and hours and minimum spends are not published, so book by phone or through the website.

KTEL buses go to Platis Gialos, the next bay, and in the October timetable they ran until midnight, with the last return at 00:15. Psarou suits groups with a budget and a taste for the setting. It does not suit a cheap beach day.

Ftelia: the north coast

Ftelia is on the north coast, a long way from the bars of Chora. Alemagou is an all-day beach bar and restaurant that started in 2010, with Aegean-fusion food, DJ sets and sunset sessions. Ftelia is not on KTEL's list of destinations, so plan a taxi or private transfer both ways. The area suits a day trip with music at sunset. It does not suit a spontaneous night, and Alemagou does not publish hours or prices.

Getting around at night

Chora is the only area you can do on foot. Everywhere else needs a vehicle, and the options narrow after midnight. Taxis wait at the rank on Taxi Square, in the new port and at the airport, but a local guide warns that they are limited and finding one can be hard in high season. Greeka also says prices can be high. The KTEL bus station at Fabrika serves Paradise, Super Paradise, Paraga and Platis Gialos, and some buses leave from the Old Port. Tickets are bought from the driver, and the driver takes cash only. Some water taxis run from the Old Port to Paradise Beach.

The practical rule is to book the return before you leave. Cavo Paradiso sells private transfers and offers free valet parking, and the beach clubs will usually call a car. The timetable changes with the month, so check mykonosbus.com for the day you travel. Sunset and late dinner are the busiest times for taxis, so allow extra time or pick a bar within walking distance.

Where to stay

For nightlife, stay in or near Chora. You can walk to the Little Venice bars, Lío, Astra and the Old Port, and the taxi rank is on Taxi Square. A hotel on a beach makes the beach club easy but ties you to buses and taxis for everything else, and the last buses leave long before the clubs close. If you only come for Cavo Paradiso, Paradise Beach is the shorter trip home. Compare hotels and hostels on our page of places to stay in Mykonos.
