Astra opened in July 1987 in a small building next to a church, designed by the jeweller Minas, with a ceiling like an observatory dome. It stands in the Tria Pigadia area of Mykonos Town, near Matoyianni Street. In the early evening it works as a lounge with a long cocktail list. Later it turns into a small club with a retro feel, where DJs, mostly from Athens, play into the early morning.
Guides say the door expects you to dress smartly, and they rate it in the upper price band. Opening hours and prices are not published. Not for you if you want a big dance floor or a view: the room is small, and the night is indoors.
