The 8 best bars in Mykonos, ranked: JackieO' Town Bar, Scarpa, Katerina's, Semeli and more, with hours, door rules and one honest reason to skip each bar.
The best bars in Mykonos are in the old town, and most of them are on or near the water. Little Venice has Scarpa, Semeli and Katerina's with terraces over the sea, the Paraportiani waterfront has JackieO' Town Bar, and a few streets inland Astra, Queen of Mykonos and Alley sit around Tria Pigadia and Mitropoleos. 180° Sunset Bar looks down on all of it from the castle.
This list ranks eight bars that guides place in the 2026 season. Each entry gives the hours where a source publishes them, the door rule and one honest reason to skip it. The basics first: sunset is the busiest hour on the waterfront, the latest bars here close at 05:00 or 05:30, and no source we found lists a cover charge. Several sit in the upper price band in local guides, so check what a round costs before you order one.
We ranked bars on five things: drinks, setting, hours, door and value. Drinks means a bar that takes its cocktails or its champagne seriously. Setting means a view or a room you would choose on purpose. Hours means how late you can still get a drink. Door means you can tell in advance if you need to dress up or book. Value is the hardest to judge, because few of these bars publish prices, so we flag the ones that guides place in the upper band. Every bar here appears in a guide dated 2026 and none is marked closed. We do not sell tables.
A gay bar on the Paraportiani waterfront, just below the church, with a large terrace over the sea and a drag show every night in season. It opens at 19:00 or 20:00 and closes at 05:00, or 06:00 on Saturday, which makes it one of the latest bars on the island. The group's 2026 calendar lists the bar opening on 9 April. Skip it if you want a quiet drink after midnight.
A compact waterside bar that a local guide says has been a Little Venice fixture for more than 40 years, known for fruit cocktails and seats by the water at sunset. ArrivalGuides lists it as open daily from 08:00 to 05:30, the longest hours on this list. Skip it if you dislike crowds: the waterfront is busiest at sunset, and cocktails can be pricey.
A cocktail bar and seafood restaurant on Agion Anargyron in Little Venice, with sea views. Travel Gay's July 2025 listing has it open every day from 09:00 to 03:00, so it works from a late breakfast to the last round. Skip it if you want to dance: this is a place to sit.
A seafront bar in Little Venice, open since 2005, where a resident DJ plays classic R&B and mainstream tunes. Google lists it as open from midday to 05:00, and local guides rate it in the upper price band. Skip it if you want a quiet table by the water after dark: the volume rises when the DJ starts.
A small lounge in Tria Pigadia that opened in July 1987 in a building next to a church, with a ceiling like an observatory dome. In the early evening it serves cocktails, and later it turns into a small club with DJs, mostly from Athens. Guides say the door expects you to dress smartly. Skip it if you want a big dance floor or a view.
An open-air terrace at Castle Panigirakis with a panoramic view over Chora and the Aegean, signature cocktails, wine and champagne, and soft DJ music. Guides recommend reserving for the best view seats and place it in the upper price band. Skip it if you want a late bar: one listing gives its hours as 17:30 to 21:30.
An all-day café and cocktail bar a few metres from the Poseidon Hotel, with handcrafted cocktails made from syrups, infusions and herbs and spices, plus a seasonal list that uses Greek spirits. The music leans towards soul and jazz. Skip it if you want a dance floor: it is a better start to the night than the end.
A champagne and cocktail bar a few steps from the centre of Chora, with handcrafted signature cocktails, appetisers and a DJ later in the night. Greeka says the fun runs until the early morning. Skip it if you are watching your budget: guides place it in the upper price band.
Treat Chora as one walking route. Start at 180° Sunset Bar for the view, then walk down to Little Venice, where Scarpa, Semeli and Katerina's all sit on the water. JackieO' Town Bar is on the Paraportiani waterfront at the edge of Little Venice. For a later, dressed-up stretch, Astra, Queen of Mykonos and Alley are around Tria Pigadia and Mitropoleos, close to Lío and Bonbonniere if you want a club after.
Everything is on foot, and the taxi rank is on Taxi Square. Taxis are scarce late at night, so decide where you end up before the last round. Alemagou, a beach bar with DJ sets on the north coast at Ftelia, is a trip out, not a stop on this route.

For a late night with a show, JackieO' Town Bar on the Paraportiani waterfront. For sunset, Scarpa or Katerina's in Little Venice, or 180° Sunset Bar above the town.
JackieO' Town Bar closes at 05:00, or 06:00 on Saturday. Scarpa is listed until 05:30, Semeli until 05:00 and Katerina's at 03:00. 180° Sunset Bar is a sunset stop and is listed until 21:30.
Little Venice, where Scarpa, Semeli and Katerina's sit over the water, or the terrace at 180° Sunset Bar. Arrive early: the waterfront is busiest at sunset.
Yes. JackieO' Town Bar is the best known, with a drag show every night in season, and Mykonos was already a popular gay destination in the 1980s.
Most publish none. Guides say Astra expects smart dress, and Lío, the cabaret club in the same part of town, turns away beachwear and flip-flops.
