Krakow nightlife by neighbourhood: which area suits your night, from Old Town cellar clubs and Kazimierz techno basements to Podgórze, Zabłocie and Dębniki.
Krakow nightlife is spread across five areas, and two of them do most of the work. The Old Town has the cellar clubs around the Main Square, from Prozak 2.0 to Lastriko, plus a speakeasy and a vodka bar or two. Kazimierz has the bars around Plac Nowy and the techno basements on Dajwór and ul. Nowa. Across the river, Podgórze and Zabłocie are quieter: a riverside bar, a wine bar by Schindler's Factory. Dębniki has the Hotel Forum, which comes alive for festival nights.
Choose the area by the night you want, then plan the walk home: the centre is compact, and night trams run on weekend nights. This guide covers what each area is like, where to go and who it suits.
The Old Town, Stare Miasto, is where most first nights in Krakow start, and the reason is simple: almost everything is within a few minutes of the Main Square. Szewska, Floriańska and Sławkowska are the main nightlife streets, and much of the drinking and dancing happens underground, in brick cellars under the old houses.
On the square itself, Międzymiastowa at Rynek Główny 34 is a restaurant by day and a house club on weekend nights, with parties from 23:00 to 04:00 at around 30 zł. Two minutes away on Gołębia, Lastriko opens a one-room cellar club on Friday and Saturday until 04:00, cash only at the door. One of the oldest electronic club nights in Krakow, Prozak 2.0, runs under Plac Dominikański: two levels, three dance floors and nights until 06:00, with tickets at 30–50 zł.
For a slower start, Mercy Brown on Straszewskiego is a speakeasy with no sign outside, jazz sessions at 19:30 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday, and burlesque shows on some nights. Klub RE on ul. św. Krzyża puts indie bands in its cellar and has a tree-lined beer garden, open until 02:00. Pijalnia Wódki i Piwa on Szewska is the cheap vodka-and-beer stop between them. The Old Town suits a first visit, a group, and anyone who wants to walk to bed. It does not suit people who dislike tourist prices and queues on a Saturday.
Kazimierz, the old Jewish quarter south-east of the Old Town, is where Krakow goes out when it is not showing visitors around. Plac Nowy is the centre: the square and the streets around it are full of bars, and the night here is led by bars rather than clubs. It also sees fewer stag and hen groups than the Old Town.
Start with a drink. Alchemia on the corner of Estery and Plac Nowy has been open since 1999, with a candlelit bar and a cellar for jazz, klezmer and alternative concerts. Hevre on Meiselsa fills a 19th-century Jewish prayer house, with its frescos and women's balcony still in place, and hosts Unsound and Patchlab festival nights. On Dajwór, Weźże Krafta pours 25 rotating craft beers.
Then go down. Noce KRK, next door to Weźże Krafta on Dajwór, is the techno room, with all-nighters that can run until 08:00 and tickets from free to 60 zł. Sekta Selekta on ul. Nowa gives one DJ the whole night, with free Sunday sessions from 21:00. Piękny Pies on Plac Wolnica is a late bar with cellars for acid and electronica parties until 05:00. At the Old Town end, Shine Club on Starowiślna fills a former cinema with three rooms of pop, house and Latin on Friday and Saturday. Kazimierz suits bar crawlers, techno people and anyone who wants a local crowd. Not for you if you want a dressed-up night with table service, apart from Shine.
Podgórze sits on the south bank of the Vistula, at the foot of Lasota Hill, and it was a town in its own right until it joined Krakow in 1915. Its triangular market square, Rynek Podgórski, was once that town's main square. During the Second World War the Krakow Ghetto was set up here in March 1941. Today it is quieter than Kazimierz across the water, and the nightlife is spread thin.
The anchor is Drukarnia on Nadwiślańska, right on the riverbank. Upstairs there is an American-style lobby bar for cocktails and tapas and a pub corner for locals; downstairs, a large basement runs jazz concerts, comedy and dance parties, mostly at the weekend. It is a short walk over the river from Kazimierz, which makes it easy to fold into a Kazimierz night. Podgórze suits people who want a drink without the crowds and a walk by the river. It is not where you go for a big club night: check Drukarnia's listings before you cross.
Zabłocie lies east of Podgórze's centre, around ul. Lipowa, where Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory at Lipowa 4 is now a branch of the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow, with the Museum of Contemporary Art in the former workshops next door. By day this is museum territory; after dark it is quiet.
Stay for a glass. Krako Slow Wines at Lipowa 6F is a wine shop and bar in a converted warehouse, with more than 100 wines, all certified organic or Polish, boards of cheese and cured meat, and a Georgian food truck outside from Thursday to Sunday. It is an early-evening stop rather than a late one. Zabłocie suits a calm start after an afternoon at the museums, before you head back across the river to Kazimierz for the rest of the night. Not for you if you want clubs: there are none here that we can recommend with confidence.
On the Dębniki bank of the Vistula, across the water from Wawel, the modernist Hotel Forum is a landmark building and, in October, one of the main Unsound festival venues. Unsound uses its Ballroom, Corner Room and the space called 89 for night programmes; the 2026 FLUFF night on 9 October runs from 21:30 to 06:00, with tickets at 140–160 zł.
The rest of the year, Forum Horyzonty runs the bar and restaurant in the building, with two cocktail bars, tapas and Roman pizza, open until 02:00 from Thursday to Saturday. Some weekends it turns into a club: FLUXUS held a techno night there until 06:00 in September 2026. The building replaced Forum Przestrzenie, the cultural bar that ran here from 2013 to 2023. Dębniki suits a sunset drink by the river and festival nights. Not for you on an ordinary weeknight if you want a crowd.
Krakow has no metro, and the centre is small enough to walk: the Old Town and Kazimierz are about fifteen minutes apart, and Podgórze is a short walk over the river from Kazimierz. Night trams 62, 64 and 69 run every 30 minutes on weekend and holiday nights. A 30-minute ticket costs 6 zł and a 24-hour ticket for the city zone 20 zł; buy and validate it, because inspectors do check. Two rules matter after dark. Since 1 September 2026 shops across the city may not sell alcohol between 22:00 and 06:00, although bars and clubs still serve. And drinking in the street is illegal in Poland, so keep it inside.
For nightlife, stay in the Old Town or Kazimierz. The Old Town puts you within a few minutes of Prozak 2.0, Lastriko and the square, and it is the easiest base for a first visit. Kazimierz is closer to the techno rooms and the Plac Nowy bars, and it is where you want to be if you plan to finish at Noce KRK or Sekta Selekta. Podgórze is quieter and a short walk over the river. Kazimierz for bars and techno, the Old Town for clubs close to the Main Square. They are about fifteen minutes apart on foot, so many people do both in one night.
The Old Town is more central and busier with groups; Kazimierz has a more local crowd, more bars and the techno rooms Noce KRK and Sekta Selekta.
Not in shops. Since 1 September 2026, shops and petrol stations across the city may not sell alcohol between 22:00 and 06:00. Bars and clubs are not affected.
Walking is the easiest option, since the centre is compact. Night trams 62, 64 and 69 run every 30 minutes on weekend and holiday nights, and a 30-minute ticket costs 6 zł.
For a quieter drink by the river, yes: Drukarnia on Nadwiślańska is a short walk from Kazimierz. For a club night, stay on the Kazimierz side.
