Old Town branch of the vodka-and-beer bar chain on Szewska: cheap shots, beer and traditional bar snacks until late.

Pijalnia Wódki i Piwa is a Polish chain of vodka-and-beer bars with more than 30 branches, and Krakow has three: Szewska 20 in the Old Town, Rynek Główny 9 on the Main Square and Plac Nowy 7 in Kazimierz. The formula is the same everywhere: shots of vodka, beer, and a short menu of traditional drinking snacks, in a room that plays on communist-era nostalgia.

The Szewska branch sits on one of the Old Town's main nightlife streets, a couple of minutes from the Main Square, which makes it an easy warm-up or in-between stop. Drinks and snacks are cheap. Not for you if you want a cocktail or a quiet table.
