Alchemia has been on the corner of Estery and Plac Nowy since 1999 and is something of a Kazimierz institution, with a dark, candlelit interior. It works as a café by day and a bar by night, and the cellar is a concert room that takes part in the city's jazz and klezmer festivals.
The October 2026 programme alone has world music, free improvisation, a jazz duo at 50–65 zł and Dead Bob, formerly of No Means No. Concerts usually start between 19:00 and 20:00. It suits a slow night that starts with a gig and ends at the bar upstairs. Not for you if you want a dance floor.
