The 10 best clubs in Enschede, ranked: ANTIA, Metropool, Aspen Valley and the Vestingbar, then the late pubs, with closing times, entry prices and what each door expects.
The best clubs in Enschede are a short list, and it helps to say so at the start. The city has one room in the centre that calls itself a nightclub, ANTIA on Noorderhagen, plus a handful of places that work like clubs: the Metropool pop venue, a student pub on the University of Twente campus, a party café on the Oude Markt and a rock bar that stays open until 04:00. This list ranks all of them. The last three places go to the late pubs, because the next step down from a club in Enschede is a bar, not another club.
Each entry gives the closing time, the door, the price where one is published and one honest reason to skip it. The basics: the minimum age for alcohol is 18, ANTIA club nights start at €9 before midnight, and NS night trains do not serve Enschede, so most people cycle or share a taxi.
We ranked on five things: sound, crowd, door, late licence and value. Sound means a room built for music. Crowd means people who came for the night rather than a quick drink. Door means you can predict the age rule and the price. Late licence means how long the night runs, and in Enschede the latest published close is 05:00. Value compares the price with the night you get. Every venue here has hours or events published for 2026, and every time, price and address comes from the venue, the tourist board or an event listing. Where a price is not published, we say so. We do not sell tickets ourselves.
The one room in the centre that calls itself a nightclub, with club nights from Thursday to Saturday under titles such as Industrial Night and Housebaar. The price steps up through the night, from €9 before 00:00 to €16 at the door. Skip it if you want chart music or a late walk-in: this is a specialist room, and the cheap ticket ends at midnight.
The former Atak, now Twente's pop venue, with an 800-capacity hall for concerts and dance parties and a 300-capacity room for bands and club nights. The programme covers pop, rock, metal, hip-hop, techno and indie. Skip it if you want a club that opens every weekend: it opens when a show is on.
The party café of the Oude Markt, with a revolving bar, DJs and weekly après-ski nights. It stays open until 04:00 from Tuesday to Friday and until 05:00 on Saturday, which makes it one of the latest rooms in town. Skip it if you want a music policy beyond party hits or a quiet drink.
A student-run pub in the middle of the University of Twente campus, open Monday to Saturday from 21:00 to 02:00. The calendar is built around themed parties, a Tuesday pub quiz and special nights such as the Boiler Barn techno night on 27 November. Skip it if you want the city centre: it is on campus, about ten minutes' walk from Enschede Kennispark station.
A brown café that the tourist board calls the cosiest spot on the Oude Markt, open from 14:00 to 04:00 and to 05:00 on Saturday. The party moves indoors in the evening, and Visit Enschede's student guide names it as a bar with student prices. Skip it if you want a dance floor or a published music policy: neither is listed.
A rock bar that has run since 1994, open from 15:00 to 04:00 every day. Live bands are the draw, with five dated shows between 17 and 31 October 2026. Skip it if you want a dance floor or electronic music: this is a room for guitars.
The Hengelo stage of the Twente podium, with concerts, tribute nights and club programmes, and a 04:00 closing time under the rules Hengelo's council described in February 2026. It is the pick if the show you want is booked here and not in Enschede. Skip it if you have no plan for the way back: it is a separate town.
An Irish pub on the Oude Markt with a terrace, craft beers and a popular Monday pub quiz. It closes at 03:00 on Friday and Saturday and at 02:00 on the other nights. Skip it if you want to dance: this is a pub for conversation, and the pub itself says there are no Dutch sing-alongs.
A small corner pub on the Oude Markt with an old-fashioned feel, a terrace over the square and a private room upstairs. It closes at 02:00 on Friday and Saturday. Skip it on a weeknight if you want a late finish: from Monday to Thursday it shuts at 00:00, and on Sunday at 20:00.
A volunteer-run café on the Walstraat, run by Stichting Huisvesting Homobeweging Twente and open from Thursday to Sunday. Saturday is the latest night, until 02:00. Skip it if you want a club night or a full week of opening: it is closed from Monday to Wednesday, and its agenda showed no scheduled activities on 14 October 2026.
Most of this list sits close together in the centre. Aspen Valley, Café Friends Backstage, Molly Malone and De Pimpelaar are on or beside the Oude Markt. ANTIA is on Noorderhagen, Café Rocks on Hofstraat, Café Stonewall on the Walstraat and Metropool Enschede on Willem Wilminkplein. The outliers are the Vestingbar, on the campus about ten minutes' walk from Enschede Kennispark station, and Metropool Hengelo, in the next town.
Getting home is up to you. The NS night-train page does not list Enschede, and we could not confirm a regional night bus. Most people cycle. A taxi costs at most €4.31 plus €3.17 per kilometre and €0.52 per minute in 2026, which is about €18 for three kilometres.
Enschede rewards a plan more than a big budget. Check the ANTIA and Metropool agendas first, then build the night around them: a beer on the Oude Markt, the club before midnight for the €9 ticket and the bike home. Bring ID. ANTIA on Noorderhagen for club nights from Thursday to Saturday, and Metropool Enschede on Willem Wilminkplein for bigger shows and dance parties.
An ANTIA night in July 2026 ran from 21:00 to 05:00. Aspen Valley and Café Friends Backstage stay open until 05:00 on Saturday, Café Rocks closes at 04:00 every day, and the Vestingbar closes at 02:00 from Monday to Saturday.
An ANTIA club night costs €9 before 00:00, €14 in presale and €16 at the door, and Thursday open decks are free. Metropool prices are set per show, and the cafés on this list publish no entry fee.
At ANTIA, which books techno, industrial and bass nights, and at the Vestingbar, which lists a techno night called Boiler Barn on 27 November. Metropool also lists techno among its genres.
The minimum age for alcohol is 18. Aspen Valley is 18+, and the ANTIA night listed for July 2026 was 18+. Check each event page and bring ID.
