Metropool Enschede is the city's main pop venue, formerly known as poppodium Atak. Atak went bankrupt in early 2018, and the Enschede and Hengelo councils merged their pop venues into one regional podium, which now also runs a stage in Almelo. The larger hall holds 800 people for concerts and dance parties. The smaller hall holds 300, including 100 on the balcony, for smaller bands and club nights. Metropool's own site lists the Enschede stages as the Saxion Stage and the Leffe Stage, plus the Muziekcafé.
The programme covers pop, rock, metal, hip-hop, techno and indie. Late October 2026 has Codefendants on the 21st and Ida on the 24th, and the Muziekcafé opens at 17:00 on event days. Prices are set per show, and not every listing says whether it is a club night, so check the agenda. Not for you if you want a venue open every night: it opens when something is on.

Metropool, the organisation behind this venue, was founded in 2018 as the Netherlands' first pop venue shared across several municipalities. It now runs sites in Hengelo, Enschede and Almelo, and Enschede includes a music café.
