The 10 best bars in Bangkok, ranked: Dry Wave, Bar Us, G.O.D, ÆTHER and more, with closing times, dress codes and what each room is best for.
The best bars in Bangkok fall into three groups: rooftops high above Silom and Sathorn, award-winning cocktail rooms in Thonglor and Sukhumvit, and small shophouse bars on Soi Nana in Chinatown. Dry Wave Cocktail Studio ranked number 4 in Asia's 50 Best Bars 2026 and Bar Us number 6, and G.O.D in Chinatown came 31st. Sky Bar at lebua and Vertigo and Moon Bar are the tall rooftops most visitors know, while ÆTHER offers a 44th-floor view with free entry.
This list ranks ten bars. Each entry gives you the closing time, what the door wants and one honest reason to skip it. The basics: the legal age is 20, licensed entertainment venues can serve until 02:00 while restaurants and shops stop at midnight, and most bars here close between midnight and 02:00. Cocktails usually cost ฿350–600 (about €9–15), and rooftops charge more.
We ranked the bars on five things: drinks, setting, late hours, value and ease of entry. Drinks means what is in the glass, and the 2026 Asia's 50 Best Bars list is one signal we weighed, not the only one. Setting means a room with a reason to be there, such as a 61st-floor helipad or a 15-seat gin bar. Late hours means a close at 01:00 or later. Value and ease of entry mean a published price, no cover and a door you can predict. Where a bar does not publish its hours, such as Dry Wave and Bar Us, we say so instead of guessing.
Number 4 in Asia's 50 Best Bars 2026 and number 5 the year before, opened in 2024 by Supawit "Palm" Muttarattana, formerly of Vesper and Backstage. The menu is built on "Super Classics", and the terrace wraps around a mature tree. A cocktail averages about ฿450 (about €12). Skip it if you want a loud room or a fixed closing time: the hours are not published.
A small, almost all-black room on Soi Sukhumvit 26 from the team behind Messenger Service, number 6 in Asia's 50 Best Bars 2026 and winner of that year's Ketel One Sustainable Bar Award. The menu runs as a Starter, a Main and an After, in any order, and changes every few months. Skip it if you want a lively room: it is intimate and quiet, and the cocktails are the whole point.
The flagship bar of Niks Anuman and partners, on Soi Rammaitree in Chinatown, and number 31 in Asia's 50 Best Bars 2026. Cocktails are spirit-forward, each served with a gourmet side bite, and a uni martini costs ฿580 (about €15). It opens daily at 19:00 and fills quickly. Skip it if you are a big group: there is little room.
A cocktail bar on the 44th floor of Dusit Central Park, at the Silom and Rama IV junction, with free entry and a close at 02:00. Time Out suggests arriving around 17:45 to watch the room shift from sunset to night. BTS Sala Daeng and MRT Si Lom are at the foot of the building. Skip it if you want a quiet room at sunset, because that is when it fills.

One 2026 guide puts cocktails at ฿800–1,200 (about €21–31), and a dress code applies. Skip it if value matters: ÆTHER has free entry.
A 1940s-style Cuban bar entered through a phone booth in a back alley off Soi Sukhumvit 11, with a large rum list, a cigar lounge upstairs and daily hours of 18:00 to 02:00. On weekends a live Cuban band plays, followed by a DJ with salsa, reggaeton and Latin house. Skip it if you want a quiet weekend drink: the music fills the room.
Floors 45 to 49 of the Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit, with a restaurant below, open-air bars above and a 360-degree rooftop bar at the top. It opens daily at 17:00, and listings give the close as midnight or 01:00. The dress code is casual chic: men cannot wear sportswear, flip-flops or sleeveless tops. Skip it if you want a late finish or a cheap drink.
Match the bar to the hour. The rooftops open at 17:00 or 18:00, so go up for sunset: ÆTHER, Vertigo and Moon Bar and Octave open at 17:00, Sky Bar at 18:00. Soi Nana in Chinatown is the best bar crawl: G.O.D opens at 19:00, Teens of Thailand and Tep Bar at 18:00, and all three sit within a few minutes' walk of each other. In Thonglor, Dry Wave, Octave and Thaipioka are in the same district, linked by short Grab rides, and Bar Us is on Soi Sukhumvit 26 near Phrom Phong.
Mind the clock. Tep Bar closes at midnight, most of the others between 01:00 and 02:00, and the BTS and MRT stop around midnight. Use Grab or Bolt to get home, and remember that Vertigo and Moon Bar closes when it rains.
