The 10 best clubs in Rotterdam for 2026, from techno in a tunnel under the Weena to raves in a grain silo, with entry prices, closing times and door tips.
The best clubs in Rotterdam are not on one strip. They sit where the port left space: a pedestrian tunnel under the Weena, a 1906 grain silo on the Maashaven, a railway hall beside Rotterdam Zuid station and a basement in the old M4H docks. That spread is the point. Each room has its own sound and its own crowd, and most are a short cycle from Witte de Withstraat, where the night usually starts.
Techno is the backbone of Rotterdam nightlife, but it is not the whole of it. This list also covers the jazz-to-club nights under the Hofbogen, the biggest pop room by Rotterdam Centraal, afrobeats and amapiano in the Schieblock and free Latin nights on the Stadhuisplein. For each club you get the entry price where it is published, the closing time, the age rule, how the door works and one honest reason to skip it.
We ranked clubs on five things: the sound and the room, the crowd a night draws, how the door treats you, how late the licence runs and what you pay to get in. Every club here was operating in 2026, checked against its own website, Resident Advisor listings and Uitagenda Rotterdam. Prices and hours come from those listings, and where a club does not publish them, we say so rather than guess. Perron, one of the city's best-known techno rooms, closed in April 2026 and is not on the list.
The most reliable techno night in the city: Friday and Saturday, 23:00 to 05:00, in a tunnel where the booth and back wall move as the room fills. The January 2026 refurbishment kept the character and added a no-phone policy. Skip it if you need space; the ceiling is low and the room is narrow.
The biggest rooms in Rotterdam, in a grain silo that stored grain until 2003. Rotterdam Rave, gabber revivals and hard techno fill a main hall for around 2,300 people. Skip it if you want a spontaneous night: the big events sell out and there is no weekly club night here.
The newest serious club in Rotterdam, opened in November 2025 in the basement of the Keilepand with room for about 400. The 24-hour licence makes ten-hour back-to-backs possible, and the music runs from techno and electro to UK garage and jungle. Skip it if you rely on public transport; it is a bike ride into the docks.
Dinner, a concert and a club night under one railway arch. BIRD programmes jazz, soul, funk and hip-hop and stays open until 05:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, with nights like Throwback Jams once the stage clears. Skip it if you only want techno; this is groove music.
A former railway maintenance hall next to Rotterdam Zuid station, run by the team behind POING. It programmes whole weekends rather than single nights: the September 2026 edition ran from Friday evening to Sunday night for €25, with deep techno, live sets and an art installation. Skip it if you want a club that is open every Saturday.
The biggest pop venue in the city, five minutes from Rotterdam Centraal, with a main hall for up to 1,200. Concerts run early and club nights follow on Fridays and Saturdays until 04:00, mostly hip-hop, R&B and throwback parties. Skip it if you want an underground room; this is a big, bright night out.
The city's avant-garde venue, a short walk from Witte de Withstraat, where collectives run the club nights. In one month you can get breakbeat, jazz house, gabber, electrocumbia and cold wave. Skip it if you want polish; the room is raw and the line-ups are for people who read them.
Three rooms on the tenth floor of the Maassilo, about 40 metres above the harbour, run as a separate club from the big events downstairs. Nights range from rave to urban, so it suits a group with mixed tastes. Skip it if you want a consistent sound; check the line-up every time.
A basement club in the Schieblock next to Annabel, for up to 500 people, open on Friday and Saturday from 23:00 to 04:00. Afrobeats, amapiano, dancehall and hip-hop lead the calendar, with queer techno and house nights in between. Skip it if you want the same sound every week; the promoter decides the night.
A tropical restaurant on the Stadhuisplein that becomes a Latin dance floor after dinner. Club Coco runs several nights a week from 22:00 with salsa, reggaeton and R&B, and entry has been free. Skip it if you want an underground crowd; this is the city's mainstream party square.
Rotterdam's clubs are spread out, so plan the night by direction rather than by venue. Toffler, Annabel and Sahara are all within five minutes of Rotterdam Centraal, which makes the station side the easiest night to improvise. Maassilo and Now&Wow share a building on the Maashaven, a short metro ride south of the river, and Shunter sits next to Rotterdam Zuid station. Export is the outlier, out in the M4H docks, about fifteen minutes by bike from the centre.
Start with a drink on Witte de Withstraat, then pick one direction and stay there. The metro stops around 00:30 and night buses only run at weekends, so a bike or a shared taxi is the realistic way between clubs and home. If you are heading back to Amsterdam, the NS night train leaves Rotterdam Centraal every hour.
If you only have one night, make it Toffler or a Maassilo rave, and start on Witte de Withstraat. With two nights, split it: one in the centre, one on the south bank. Our Rotterdam nightlife guide covers closing times, prices and how the door works, and Rotterdam nightlife by neighbourhood tells you which area suits which night. For the big nights that sell out, check tickets for Rotterdam club nights before you travel, and if you are staying over, compare places to stay in Rotterdam near the club you picked.
For techno, Toffler every weekend and the Rotterdam Rave nights at Maassilo. For something newer and later, Export in the M4H docks. For live music that turns into a club, BIRD. For hip-hop and pop, Annabel.
Toffler for a weekly club night, Friday and Saturday from 23:00 to 05:00. Maassilo for the big raves, and Shunter or Export for longer, deeper sets.
Most close between 04:00 and 05:00. Sahara and Annabel finish at four, Toffler at five. Export holds a 24-hour licence and can run later.
It is different. Rotterdam has fewer clubs, but the doors are easier and the rooms sit in bigger industrial spaces. Amsterdam has more choice. With an hourly night train between the two, you can do both in one trip.
Most club nights are 18+, as listed for Toffler, Shunter and the Maassilo raves. Some promoters set 21+, so check the ticket page and bring photo ID.
