The 8 best clubs in Medellín

The 8 best clubs in Medellín, ranked: Salón Amador, Rama Soundgarden, Mad Radio, Sonorama and more, with closing times, cover prices and door rules.

7 min read

The best clubs in Medellín are mostly electronic rooms in El Poblado, plus a few places built around Latin music. This ranking covers eight venues that are open now, with the closing time, the cover where one is published and the door rules that matter. Prices come from 2026 listings or guides unless a date says otherwise.

The order follows five tests: sound, crowd, door, late licence and value. The top three are Salón Amador, Rama Soundgarden and Mad Radio. For licence zones, the Metro's 23:00 stop and official safety advice, read the Medellín nightlife guide.

1. Salón Amador: the sound-first house and techno room

Salón Amador has run at Calle 10 #40-30 since 2014 and has the strongest case on sound: Resident Advisor lists a Void Acoustics system, and El Tiempo names Black Coffee, Claptone and Paul Oakenfold among past bookings. Guides point to Thursday to Saturday nights from about 22:00 to 04:00, and tickets are sold through Fourvenues and Cluvi links on the club's site. A June 2026 guide gives the cover at about COP 50,000. The trade-off is the door: TripAdvisor reviewers between 2018 and 2023 report dress-code refusals, so skip shorts and sandals.

2. Rama Soundgarden: Funktion-One and a no-phones night

Rama Soundgarden at Carrera 48 #10-70 in Manila runs a Funktion-One system and lists techno and bass nights. Long Live Underground on Saturday 24 October 2026 runs 20:00 to 04:00, is 18+, and is promoted with "Music first. Dancefloor first. No phones", at 50,000 (Resident Advisor shows no currency). The bass night on Friday 23 October 2026 is free with RSVP. It ranks second because the programme is narrower and the club publishes no weekly hours.

3. Mad Radio: the free-entry DJ bar

Mad Radio at Calle 8A #33-40 in Provenza opens Tuesday to Saturday from 17:00 and lists no cover on its 2026 nights. Nights ended at 02:30 on Thursday 22 October 2026 and 03:30 on Saturdays in July and August 2026. Resident Advisor says the crew launched in Medellín in 2017. It ranks third on door and value rather than late licence, and drinks are not cheap: a February 2026 reviewer paid COP 50,000 for a gin and tonic. Some listings end with "+ 25 years old", so ask about age.

4. Sonorama: the techno and trance floor near Lleras

Sonorama at Carrera 37 #10-37 opened in early 2019 with a reported capacity of about 500. TechnoAirlines lists Thursday to Saturday from 21:00 to 04:00, closed Monday to Wednesday, with techno, house, progressive house and trance. A June 2026 guide gives the cover as COP 30,000 to 50,000, and tickets go through Fourvenues. The programme is strictly electronic, so it will not suit a mixed group.

5. 50|50: house nights to 04:00 in La Candelaria

50|50 on the second floor of Carrera 50 #34-62 lists house, tech house and techno nights, all 18+ and all ending at 04:00. Resident Advisor shows entry from free (26 September 2026) to 40,000 (25 September 2026) and 20,000 for Samuel Jabba on Friday 23 October 2026, with no currency stated. It sits outside the Lleras bar zone, so plan the ride in advance.

6. Teatro Victoria: four levels in Provenza

Teatro Victoria at Carrera 35 #8A-73 has Super 8 for reggaeton and urban, 100 Fuegos for salsa, merengue and vallenato, and a rooftop lounge. Google hours on Wanderlog run to 04:00 from Thursday to Saturday. Some rooms charge a cover, and amounts are not published, so look at one room before you pay.

7. Son Havana: live salsa with a free class

Son Havana at Carrera 73 #44-56 in Laureles lists La Sonora on Thursday from 20:00 to 00:00 and Orquesta La Central on Sunday from 19:30 to 23:30, each with a free class at the start and a COP 20,000 cover. It is a small room: arrive by 20:00 for a table and bring cash, since a 2024 reviewer reported cards were not accepted.

8. Dulce Jesús Mío: the paisa-themed show

Dulce Jesús Mío at Carrera 38 #19-255 is a show venue with a live singer, an MC and comedy acts, and tables tied to buying a bottle, according to a December 2024 reviewer. TripAdvisor lists Sunday 20:00 to 04:00. La Kalle puts bottles at COP 150,000 to 600,000 across Medellín clubs. It is a night out for the format, not for a DJ.

How much does it cost to get into clubs in Medellín?

La Kalle (Blu Radio, October 2024) gives COP 20,000 to 50,000, and Two Travel (January 2026) gives COP 30,000 to 60,000, with Friday and Saturday the most expensive. Bars, rooftops and Mad Radio are free to enter. Budget COP 250,000 to 300,000 per person for a night at a popular club, including drinks, according to La Kalle.

What time do clubs close in Medellín?

Most of the clubs above list 04:00 on Thursday to Saturday. The licence depends on the zone: El Colombiano (April 2025) gave 00:00 for low and medium-mixture zones, 02:00 for high-mixture zones and 04:00 for special zones such as Provenza. Telemedellín reported on 21 August 2026 that the Convive la Noche scheme had been suspended and that a new decree was being drafted, so confirm the closing time with the venue.

Is it safe to go clubbing in Medellín?

The UK FCDO (updated 15 October 2026) advises against all but essential travel to parts of Colombia and says scopolamine and similar drugs have been used in nightclubs, bars, restaurants, taxis and on the street. Canada (updated 14 October 2026) names Medellín in its scopolamine and dating-app lists. Both advise against accepting drinks from strangers and against hailing taxis on the street. How do I get home from a club in Medellín?

The Metro stops at 23:00 from Monday to Saturday and 22:00 on Sundays and holidays, so clubs that close at 04:00 need a car. Order Uber, Cabify, inDrive or DiDi from inside the venue. Guides put a short ride at COP 15,000 to 25,000.
