The 10 best clubs in Eindhoven, ranked: the Effenaar, Klokgebouw, LAB-1 and the best of Stratumseind, with closing times, entry prices and what each door expects.
The best clubs in Eindhoven are not where you might expect. The city lost its big discos years ago, Danssalon and Hollywood among them, so the dancing now happens in three kinds of place: pop venues and event halls that run club nights, the party cafés of Stratumseind, and a few rooms that do something of their own, from salsa to silent disco.
Stratumseind, called the longest pub street in the Netherlands, has about 40 cafés in 225 metres and closes at 04:00 from Thursday to Saturday. The big nights sit around it: the Effenaar opposite the station, the Klokgebouw at Strijp-S and the club rooms of LAB-1. This list ranks ten of them. Each entry gives the closing time, the door, the price where one is published and one honest reason to skip it. The basics first: most doors are 18+, Stratumseind is free to walk into, and most people get home by bike.
We ranked on five things: sound, crowd, door, late licence and value. Sound means a room built for music, from the Effenaar's two halls to the Klokgebouw. Crowd means people who came to dance or listen rather than to be seen. Door means you can predict whether you get in, including age rules such as The Fat One's 25+ weekends. Late licence means how long the night runs, which on Stratumseind is 04:00 at most. Value compares the price with the night you get. Every venue here has events or opening hours published for 2026, and every time, price and address comes from the venue or the city's tourist board. We do not sell tickets ourselves.
Eindhoven's largest pop venue, opposite the station, with a 1,200-capacity main hall and a 350-capacity Kleine Zaal that hosts most of the club nights, from drum and bass at Faction Mirage to K-pop and Turkish pop nights. The Kleine Zaal holds a 24-hour club permit. Skip it if you want one sound every weekend: the programme changes nightly.
Former Philips halls at Strijp-S that can hold up to 10,000 people, booked by outside promoters for Eindhoven's largest dance nights. This winter that means Hidden Garden with Joris Voorn and Bart Skils, the Liquicity Winterfestival and Verknipt on New Year's Eve. Skip it if you want a club you can walk into on any Saturday: it only opens for events.
A retro cinema on the Keizersgracht with five rooms that turn into a club at weekends. SFERE costs €10 and runs from 23:00 to 04:00 with UK garage, breaks and techno under a designed light show, while Club Zer00s plays 2000s hits with the videos on the big screen. Skip it if you want the same club every week.
The pop venue and café of Stratumseind, with bands several times a week from indie and rock to psych and electropop, plus pool and darts. It runs until 04:00 on Friday and Saturday, and some shows are free. Skip it if you want a DJ and a dance floor all night.
An all-day café on Stratumseind, pink and covered in surreal murals, where the music goes up as the night goes on and the room becomes a dance floor. It is one of the oldest bars in Eindhoven and has won awards as a dance venue. Skip it if you want a dark room with a booked DJ.
A bar on Stratumseind built for dancing, with DJs, jam sessions and music bingo, free entry and a door that goes 25+ on Friday and Saturday. Thursday runs until 04:00 with an 18+ door. Skip it at the weekend if you are under 25.
The salsa café of Stratumseind, open every evening, with salsa, bachata and kizomba and eight-week courses for beginners. It runs until 04:00 on Friday and Saturday. Skip it if partner dancing is not your idea of a night out.
One of the newer rooms on Stratumseind and one of the few that calls itself a club, with house nights and urban music mixed with Dutch hits on Friday and Saturday from 23:00. The street's 04:00 closing applies. Skip it midweek: it is closed.
A silent disco bar with three channels on your own headphones, a different style on each, and a Disco Bingo show with tables for two or four. It opens from Thursday to Saturday at 22:00. Skip it if you want to talk to the people you came with.
A party café with two rooms, run by the Costa Crew, where on a busy night the dancing happens on and around the bar. Thursday starts around 19:00 or 20:00, and Friday and Saturday run until 04:00. Skip it if you want a quiet drink or a booked DJ.
Most of this list is a short walk apart. Thomas, The Fat One, Santiago de Cuba, Altstadt, Club Eighty One, RGB Disco and Café Costa are all on Stratumseind, about 10 minutes on foot from Eindhoven Centraal. The Effenaar is on Dommelstraat, opposite the station, and LAB-1 is in the centre on the Keizersgracht. The Klokgebouw is the outlier: it is at Strijp-S, about 10 minutes by bike from the centre, so treat it as the whole night rather than a stop.
Getting home is mostly on two wheels. NS night trains leave Eindhoven Centraal once an hour on weekend nights towards Utrecht and Rotterdam. A taxi costs at most €4.31 plus €3.17 per kilometre and €0.52 per minute in 2026, which is about €18 for three kilometres.
Eindhoven rewards a plan more than a big budget. Pick the weekend by the agenda at the Klokgebouw, the Effenaar and LAB-1, then spend the rest of the night on Stratumseind, where most doors are free. Bring ID, especially for The Fat One at the weekend. For closing times, prices and the way home in one place, read our Eindhoven nightlife guide. To choose an area first, see Eindhoven nightlife by neighbourhood, from Stratumseind to Strijp-S. Ready to book? Find upcoming nights on NightFind tickets.
For gigs and themed club nights, the Effenaar on Dommelstraat. For the biggest dance events, the Klokgebouw at Strijp-S. For a cheap electronic night, SFERE at LAB-1 for €10.
Stratumseind closes at 04:00 from Thursday to Saturday, and most bars elsewhere at 01:00 or 02:00. LAB-1 runs until 04:00 on Friday and Saturday, and the Effenaar's Kleine Zaal holds a 24-hour club permit for some nights.
Nothing on most of Stratumseind, and The Fat One states free entry. SFERE at LAB-1 costs €10 and House Mussen at HAVEN €6.50. Klokgebouw events are priced by each organiser.
Techno comes as events rather than a weekly club night: Hidden Garden with Joris Voorn and Bart Skils and Verknipt on New Year's Eve at the Klokgebouw, SFERE at LAB-1, and underground nights at HAVEN in Dynamo's basement.
18+ is standard. The Fat One is 25+ on Friday and Saturday, Club Zer00s at LAB-1 is 21+ and De Club on Dommelstraat is 35+. Bring ID.
