YES fills four floors of a former auctioneers' house on Charles Street. The ground floor is a bar with cocktails and craft beer, the Pink Room upstairs holds 250 for gigs and club nights, the Basement takes 60, and there is a roof terrace on top. It is run by Now Wave, the booking collective behind many of the city's smaller gigs.
The music covers house, disco, post-punk, electro and leftfield pop. It opens at noon every day and closes at midnight from Sunday to Wednesday, 02:00 on Thursday and 04:00 on Friday and Saturday. There is food on site, including a Greek kebab counter. Not for you if you want one big dance floor: the rooms are small and split across floors.
Relaxed door; gigs and bigger club nights in the Pink Room are ticketed.
