Why Not is a club at 14 George Street, at the St Andrew Square end of the New Town's main street. It has four spaces: the main room, an LED room that it bills as the only full LED room in Scotland, the Vault, and the Garden, a large outdoor beer garden. The Scotsman has called it the city's only late-night outdoor garden.
It opens four nights a week, Wednesday to Saturday, from 22:30 to 03:00: Love Wednesday, Sorted Thursdays, Filthy Friday and Why Not Saturdays. The midweek nights lean on cheap student drink prices, and VIP tables with queue jump and table service are sold for groups. Not for you if you want a specialist music policy: this is the big commercial night out.
VIP tables include queue jump; otherwise arrive early at the weekend and bring photo ID.
