UMI sits on Rue du Marché aux Fromages, a few steps from the Grand-Place, and describes itself as a place where music and art converge. There are two rooms: the SUB, where the bookings lean towards deep, minimal and hypnotic techno, and the STUDIO, which leans towards house. Saturdays are mostly the BLUR series; Fridays go to guest promoters.
Saturday nights run from midnight to 07:00. A typical BLUR night costs €15 in presale and €20 on the door, so buy ahead. Friday hours depend on the promoter, so check the listing. Not for you if you want a big room: this is a club for people who came for the DJ.
Ticketed door: presale is €5 cheaper than the door on most Saturdays.
