The red-fronted pub at the heart of Temple Bar, with live Irish music all day, a long whiskey list and a 02:30 close Thursday to Sunday.

The Temple Bar is the red-fronted pub at 47–48 Temple Bar, and it is the pub most visitors to the area come to see. Live Irish music runs through opening hours, the whiskey collection is one of the largest in the country, and it won Irish Music Pub of the Year many times between 2002 and 2017.

It opens at 10:30, or 12:30 on Sunday, and closes at 01:30 from Monday to Wednesday and at 02:30 from Thursday to Sunday. There are no reservations. It is not cheap: its 2024 drinks menu priced pints from €8.95 and cocktails from €15.50. Not for you if you want a local crowd or a seat on a Saturday night.
