Small indie bar on Smallbrook Queensway with gigs most nights and club nights, a few minutes on foot from New Street station.
The Sunflower Lounge is a small indie bar at 76 Smallbrook Queensway, on the edge of Southside and a few minutes on foot from New Street station. It is one of the city's busiest small music rooms, with more than 40 events on its autumn 2026 calendar, mostly up-and-coming indie, rock and pop bands at £10–14.
Club nights fill some weekends, such as Ladylike, a grime, hip-hop and R&B night, and Sundayclub, both about £10. Gigs usually start at 19:00 or 19:30, so it works as an early stop before the Gay Village or Digbeth. Not for you if you want space: the music room is small and fills fast.
Gigs are ticketed; buy ahead for the busier shows, as the room is small.
