The Rum Shack opened in 2014 on Pollokshaws Road, in Strathbungo on the Southside. It is a large two-level bar with more than 100 rums, a Caribbean kitchen serving dishes such as jerk chicken and curried goat, and reggae on the sound system. The downstairs room holds about 270 people and hosts gigs, club nights and acoustic sessions.
The autumn 2026 gig list includes Eddie and the Hot Rods, Hannah Wicklund and Prolapse. Published opening hours differ between listings, so check before a late visit. Not for you if you want the city centre: it is a Southside local, a bus ride out from Glasgow Central.
