300-capacity Digbeth bar for northern soul and Motown, with a sprung wooden dancefloor, vinyl decks and Digbeth Jazz on Tuesdays.
The Night Owl, at 17–18 Lower Trinity Street, calls itself the Midlands' only northern soul and Motown bar. It holds about 300 people and has a sprung wooden dancefloor, vintage-style interiors, vinyl turntables and a proper sound system. Soul nights are the core, and the autumn 2026 calendar adds Digbeth Jazz every Tuesday for £6, rock and roll shows and hip-hop launches.
In 2026 it was one of more than 30 Digbeth businesses named as at risk from Midlands Rail Hub plans to widen the Bordesley Viaduct; its general manager said it would not survive if they went ahead. It is open for now. Not for you if you want a big modern club.
Ticketed or pay on the night depending on the event; Digbeth Jazz Tuesdays cost £6.
