Victorian pub on South Great George's Street from the 1860s, with period woodwork, old engravings and art nouveau glass.

The Long Hall at 51 South Great George's Street opened in the 1860s and was used by the Fenians, and it keeps much of its old character. Inside are period woodwork, Gainsborough prints, old engravings and art nouveau glass above the doors at the back. The building backs onto Dublin Castle.

It is the classic first stop on George's Street, before the cocktail bars and The George further up the road. Come for a pint of stout and the Victorian room around it. We could not verify its current opening hours, so check before you go. Not for you if you want music or a dance floor: this is a pub for talking.
