The Garden Brewery has its taproom in Žitnjak, in the east of Zagreb, less than a ten-minute drive from the centre. Twenty taps pour the brewery's own beers, from core favourites to fruit sours, imperial stouts and hazy pales. Two food counters, Submarine for burgers and fries and Full Circle for fried chicken and vegan wraps, sit alongside it.
The big draw is the garden, with more than 40 mature trees, an outside bar and a space for DJs and live music. Hours are 10:00 to 00:00 from Monday to Thursday, until 02:00 on Friday and Saturday on the taproom page, and 14:00 to 22:00 on Sunday. Another official page lists midnight on Friday and Saturday, so check. Not for you if you want the old town: it is a drive away.
