Family-run music pub on Smithfield with traditional sessions every day of the week, from mid-afternoon until closing.
The Cobblestone at 77 King Street North, on the north side of Smithfield Square, has been run by the Mulligan family for 35 years as a pub for musicians. There is a traditional session every day: from 18:30 on Monday, 16:30 from Tuesday to Thursday, 14:00 on Friday and 14:30 at the weekend, each running until closing. On Saturday at 17:00 there is old-time American music, and the back bar hosts gigs.
In 2021 a plan to replace it with a 14-storey hotel was rejected after protests. Summer 2026 hours were 14:00 to 23:30 Monday to Thursday, 13:00 to 00:30 on Friday and Saturday and 13:00 to 23:00 on Sunday. Not for you if you want to talk over the music.
