Two-floor Old Compton Street cocktail bar: aperitivo and wine upstairs, whisky and cocktails in the basement.

Swift was opened on Old Compton Street by Bobby Hiddleston and Mia Johansson, who both worked at the late Milk & Honey. The ground floor is bright and casual, for aperitivo, spritzes and wine. The basement is darker, with a long whisky list, the more serious cocktails and regular jazz.

Every Swift bar keeps space for walk-ins, but booking is the safer bet on Friday and Saturday evenings. It closes at midnight most nights, which makes it a first stop rather than a last. Not for you if you want to stay in one place until late.
