Stereo has been on Renfield Lane since 2007, in a building designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Upstairs is a café-bar with a fully vegan kitchen and a list of unusual beers in bottles and cans. Downstairs is a basement venue for about 300 people, with live music most evenings and club nights at the weekend. It comes from the same owner as Mono.
The bar opens at noon every day and closes at midnight, or at 03:00 on Friday and Saturday. Food is served until 21:00. Club nights such as SCATTER run from 23:00 to 03:00 for £3–10 and are 18+. Not for you if you want a polished room: it is a basement off a city-centre lane, and it looks like one.
