Classic Ginza basement cocktail bar on Namiki-dori, run by a 1996 world bartending champion. Handmade ice, ¥1,000 cover, closed Mondays.

Star Bar sits in the basement of the Moderns Ginza building at 1-5-13 Ginza, on Namiki-dori. Hisashi Kishi runs it; he won the International Bartenders Association's world championship in 1996 at the age of 31. The room is hushed, with handmade ice and leather stools, and every seat is non-smoking.

According to Time Out it opens from 17:00 to midnight with last orders at 23:30, closes on Mondays and every other Tuesday, and charges a ¥1,000 (€5.60) cover. That listing dates from 2021 and the bar's own site shows no hours, so check before you go. Not for you if you want a loud room or a cheap round.
