Sixpack has been on Aachener Straße, at the edge of the Belgian Quarter near Rudolfplatz, since 1987, and its own line is that it has been spilling drinks and spoiling folks ever since. There are two connected rooms, loud music and DJs, and the bar pours cocktails, Kölsch and champagne to a crowd that has long included musicians and the odd famous face.
It opens from Wednesday to Saturday at 20:00, with a beer garden from 18:00 when the sun is out, and tables can be reserved by WhatsApp. Later in the night it gets packed and loud, which is the point: the tourist board calls it the rush hour of Cologne's nightlife. Not for you if you want a quiet cocktail and a conversation.
