Six Cocktail Bar

Six Cocktail Bar at 5 7th Street is one of Melville's oldest bars, according to In Your Pocket. It opens daily from 12:00 to 02:00, the kitchen closes at 01:00, and cocktails are two for one from 12:00 to 19:00. The music is old-school hip hop and R&B at a volume that still allows conversation, and the crowd is friendly with a student-friendly mix. The menu runs to dozens of cocktails: the best seller is the Excitabull, made with vodka, berries, Red Bull and a hint of Stroh, and others include the tropical June Bug and the Snoop Dogg, a gin drink with kiwi and mint.

The Melville nightlife guide adds that Six hosts a Wednesday jazz night, and Time Out's August 2026 report names it, with A Streetbar Named Desire and News Cafe, as an early-evening starting point around 17:00 on a Friday before the crowd moves on to Ratz or the Newtown clubs.
